Why is this role important?

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Content Management and Distribution, we are looking to hire a Product Owner, Content Services and Integrations to help us as we deliver CBC\xe2\x80\x99s content to Canadians and audiences around the world. As our product owner, you will work with an established team building content workflows using the latest technology. The team you will lead creates the technical infrastructure that connects CBC\xe2\x80\x99s content to developers and audiences. You will collaborate with teams from content production to delivery and be part of the team responsible for bringing CBC\xe2\x80\x99s content to Canadians. This is a chance to play a critical role in a collaborative and focused environment, where discoverable, engaging, accessible, and well-merchandised products are valued. How You Will Make an Impact:

You will play an active role in CBC/Radio-Canada\xe2\x80\x99s digital development, by providing our publishing teams with new tools that will enable them to reach Canadians.

Own the integrations and microservices backlog for the products that power publishing at the CBC

You will work on a product and its features that will effectively utilize the federated data across our systems to create an enriched understanding of our target audience.

You will contribute to define and refine the strategy and select the tools to enable custom content workflows and integrations of new tools to our CMS ecosystem

You will work with a team of talented software architects to integrate our publishing platforms and tools.

You will guarantee a roadmap aligned with our technological ecosystem, listen to the business needs of the business and communicate the technology choices to the broader CBC / Radio-Canada.

You will maintain close collaboration with the web and mobile application development and business intelligence teams. You will nurture a culture of collaboration, learning and creativity.

Qualifications

What you bring to our team:

Education. A post-secondary degree in a field related to web technologies, engineering, business management, or equivalent experience. You have the knowledge and understanding of best practices in product development and release.

Expertise. You have 5+ years in Agile product development with hands-on experience working with databases, data integration and content delivery architecture. You also have an understanding of:

Schema design and how to create a unified schema across federated data sources

APIs - how they send and receive data

Data security and privacy

GraphQL and where it fits into an organization\'s data delivery platforms

CDN\xe2\x80\x99s and how they apply to consent delivery

Microservice architecture

Approach. You are comfortable taking on the role of subject matter expert, transforming requirements into digestible elements. You have experience identifying product iterations based on data from customers, feedback from testing, and strategic initiatives.

Passion. You have a genuine interest in technology, product development, and linking the two to satisfying audience experiences and engagement. A continuous learner, you seek out information and new ways to work.

Communication skills. You know how to listen and relay empathy and understanding for diverse perspectives. You can convey insights from complex analysis to non-technical business users

Collaborative Agile experience. You can build strong two-way relationships with internal and external stakeholders and thrive in a team-focused environment. You believe in the Agile methodology deeply, but you are flexible and open to the real world twists and turns.
