Who you are:

The Product Manager for CIEE Outbound is responsible for developing and supporting critical software applications that help CIEE\xe2\x80\x99s Global Internship businesses market to, acquire, and support program participants and host employers. Relying on a deep appreciation of customer needs and a solid understanding of technologies, the Product Manager owns and leads product strategy through the definition, design, execution, and support phases. This role serves as a key liaison within CIEE and helps to establish and maintain a strong working partnership between IT and its business counterparts and has direct management responsibilities for one or more Product Analysts.

The Product Manager owns the software product vision for the product line. This position is embedded in and works closely with a strong, global software engineering team acting as Product Owner in the Scrum framework, as well as leverage strong strategic thinking while collaborating on highly detailed and competing product initiatives with multiple lines of business.

What you\xe2\x80\x99ll do:

Product Development:
  • Serve as the sole Product Owner working within the Scrum framework for CIEE Global Internship software products, maximizing the value of your team\xe2\x80\x99s incremental deliveries
  • Manage and prioritize the product backlog for CIEE software products
  • Write user stories and other product backlog items that contain workable, testable, and easy-to-understand acceptance criteria
  • Conduct requirements gathering and refining product backlog items with your team
  • Manage the continual development and maintenance of existing products by reviewing milestones with stakeholders and identifying and planning appropriate product releases
  • Collaborate within the team and overall department on testing guidelines for items in development
  • Design and collaborate on UI and UX for CIEE software products
Product Strategy:
  • Liaise closely with key business and market stakeholders to build close and productive working relationships
  • Regularly conduct stakeholder meetings (internal and external)
  • Design and collaborate on innovative and workable solutions to satisfy market needs and customer expectations in close liaison with your Scrum Team(s) and stakeholders
  • Lead the development of CIEE\xe2\x80\x99s Global Internship software product portfolio
  • Research and track innovations in competitor activity to inform product direction and analyze CIEE\xe2\x80\x99s products strengths and weaknesses
  • Analyze market research for insights that inform and validate proposed solution
Project Management:
  • Negotiate deliverables and scope of requirements across multiple stakeholders and projects, fostering strong relationships between IT and business units
  • Create and collaborate on business cases for IT solutions, considering infrastructure, licenses, development, and support
  • Conduct working sessions that detail sizing and estimates of key features, and communicate the results through business cases
  • Develop and maintain a roadmap for new product development, communicating internally and externally with clarity
  • Facilitate a monthly steering committee meeting with Senior Leadership and key stakeholders
Management:
  • Negotiate deliverables and scope of requirements across multiple stakeholders and projects, fostering strong relationships between IT and business units
  • Direct manager of one or more Product Analysts
  • Empower the team to lead the management, documentation, and follow-up of production support items as necessary
  • Ensure the team is well-versed in gathering and writing acceptance criteria
  • Establish and maintain a healthy framework for maximizing the value of your Product Analyst team
  • Help identify and collaborate on key process improvements for your team

The ideal candidate will possess:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree or international equivalent
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
  • In-depth knowledge of Agile processes and principles
  • In-depth knowledge of Scrum
  • Scrum certifications preferred
  • Salesforce experience preferred
  • Excellent leadership, presentation, and communication skills
  • Flexible and collaborative mindset
  • Proven planning and organizational skills
  • Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Creative thinker capable of executing their vision
  • High attention to detail
  • High-level IT skills, competence in the production and analysis of data
