Job Description


What we\'re looking for:

The Product Manager has oversight and responsibility to implement the strategic plan and guides the product direction for their assigned product portfolio within Canada. The incumbent defines and implements a 12\xe2\x80\x9318 month product strategy that provides long-term profitable revenue growth; successful definition and set up of new products that meet the needs of the target customer, labs, and channel partners in a timely/profitable manner; manages the current year\xe2\x80\x99s operational plans; and partners with other functions to achieve desired results. In addition, the Product Manager holds overall responsibility for the Go-to-Market strategy and implementation of designated products.

What you\'ll do:

  • Gathers and analyzes market information and identifies market opportunities
  • Introduces new products and forecasts associated revenue
  • Oversees day-to-day product management activities. Defines necessary associated measures (initiation of product developments, planning the support of product launches, go-to-market measures)
  • Monitors the performance of all product categories. Providing weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance reviews
  • Manages product discontinuation roadmap
  • Develops positioning messaging
  • Conducts business/category needs assessment and recommended solutions
  • Oversees pricing strategy based on market demand and competitive environment
  • Interfaces with the Global product team
  • Oversees and contributes to the production of technical B2B and B2C collateral and materials
  • Develops financial business cases for all new products including corporate approvals
  • Provides project leadership for cross-functional initiatives
  • Develops and executes on annual product promotional calendar, working closely with the Marketing, Sales, and IT teams
  • Completes all relevant documentation and obtains approvals from direct manager and any required leadership team members. Documentation includes but is not limited to: the Program Data Sheet, creative Briefs, messaging documents, sell-in/training presentations, and customer-facing materials
  • Collaborates with marketing and sales to generate ideas for campaigns
  • Supports the Sales organization in the preparation of program and promotional training materials, including format, content, and delivery
  • Develops promotional collateral to market promotions to targeted prospects, utilizing appropriate online and offline vehicles/channels.
  • Effectively maintains good working relationships with network Field Sales Representatives and key stakeholders
  • Conducts and reports post-promotion analysis including ROI metrics
  • Effective at delivering presentations to mid-large audiences
  • Some \xe2\x80\x9cinterest in science/technology\xe2\x80\x9d in order to demonstrate a deep understanding of how products are made and what feature distinguish them
  • Follows safety standards and reports any safety concerns to leadership
Who you are:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in a related field
  • 5+ years of product management and category-building experience in Consumer Goods or Healthcare-related industries required
  • In lieu of degree 9 years of relevant product management experience in Consumer Goods or Healthcare-related industries required
  • 2+ years of experience conducting periodic product training sessions
  • 2 years of experience as Product Manager in Consumer Goods or Healthcare-related industries preferred
  • 2 years of go-to-market marketing experience in Consumer Goods or Healthcare-related industries preferred
  • 2 years of optical industry experience preferred
  • 2 years of experience working in regulated environments
Additional Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
  • Experience with B2B and B2C activities
  • Experienced in planning and budgeting process including financial business cases
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills, Bilingual English & French an asset
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships
  • Proven track record in project management, including managing contributions of remote teams
  • Ability to travel (domestic 15-25%, international 5-10%)
  • Experience working in a multi-national brand company preferred
  • Experience working with Microsoft suite of products and other mainstream productivity apps
  • (TEAMS, MIRO, ZOOM, SalesForce, etc.)
