We are currently seeking a Product Manager, Open Banking to lead the strategy, development, and commercialization of FinVentures' open banking capabilities. This role sits at the intersection of financial data rights, API product development, privacy and security standards, and cross industry collaboration. You will shape how Canadian businesses and consumers securely and seamlessly share their financial data--aligned with Canada's emerging consumer driven banking framework and global best practices. This is a rare opportunity to build FinVentures' open banking capabilities from the ground up; shaping the strategy, architecture, and user experience for a new era of financial data sharing in Canada.

A broad, cross-disciplinary perspective, flexibility, and the ability to work collaboratively across product, engineering, compliance and external stakeholders are assets you will bring to the role and team.

In addition, you will preferably have demonstrated experience and/or interest in the following:

Product & Market Expertise

Strong understanding of Canada's consumer-driven banking (open banking) framework, including accreditation, consent standards, liability models, and the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada's supervisory role Knowledge of open banking standards in other jurisdictions--UK Open Banking, US Open Finance ecosystem, EU PSD2/PSD3, Australia's Consumer Data Right (CDR)--and the ability to evaluate which design elements translate well to the Canadian environment Understanding of data portability, consent management, and secure data sharing mechanisms relevant to Canadian banks, credit unions, and fintech partners Awareness of intellectual property considerations in fintech products, including licensing, proprietary API frameworks, data rights, and vendor/partner agreements Strong understanding of business models for open banking, including API monetization, partner pricing structures, ecosystem revenue models, and data-driven value propositions Develop and own the open banking product roadmap from research and ideation through to launch, commercialization, and scaling Conduct market scans and competitive analysis across Canadian, U.S., and global open banking ecosystems Build financial and business models to support open banking growth strategies, including new revenue streams, partner integration models, and cost considerations Translate complex regulatory guidance into practical product decisions involving consent flows, accreditation requirements, data sharing responsibilities, and liability processes Work with leadership to define FinVentures' role within the evolving open banking ecosystem, including API partnerships, bank integrations, and merchant/ERP-facing data visibility use cases
Technical & Delivery Responsibilities

Collaborate with research and development to define and refine API specifications, data models, consent objects, interoperability requirements, and system integration touchpoints Own the open banking roadmap from ideation to launch, aligning regulatory requirements and customer needs with intuitive experiences and driving adoption through effective go-to-market strategies Develop wireframes and mockups (Figma, Sketch, or similar) to illustrate consent flows, onboarding experiences, developer dashboards, data permission screens, and merchant/ERP UI states Work closely with compliance, legal, and security teams to ensure product features align with PIPEDA, PCI DSS, RPAA, and privacy-by-design principles Support third-party risk assessments and vendor evaluations for identity, data aggregation, or secure exchange vendors Lead pilot programs with banks, aggregators, ERP partners, and merchants; measure adoption, reliability, and performance outcomes Ensure clear documentation for internal teams and external partners, including API documentation, integration guides, and operational runbooks
Skills and Attributes Critical to Success

Ability to translate regulatory, legal, and technical complexities into intuitive product experiences Strong analytical mindset with comfort building or reviewing financial and economic models Excellent communication and documentation skills, especially in drafting product requirements, partner briefs, and user journeys Entrepreneurial spirit and comfort operating in a fast-paced, evolving regulatory environment Ability to create and iterate on UI mockups to communicate user experience vision to engineers and stakeholders High degree of curiosity about financial data, infrastructure, and business processes across banks, fintechs, and SMEs A passion for building secure, interoperable, and user focused financial products that enable greater transparency and choice for Canadian businesses and consumers
