MetOcean Telematics is a leading global provider, designer, and manufacturer of satellite and cellular IoT enabled solutions. MetOcean\'s products span across oceanographic and environmental monitoring equipment, defence, and security markets. For more than four decades they have assisted domestic and international customers with developing and integrating Iridium hardware into a wide range of devices and applications, designed innovative hardware products, and created industry leading software and situational awareness solutions. Meridia is happy to partner with MetOcean in their search for a Product Manager to join them in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.

Role Description

As the Product Manager, you will be a key member of the Product Management team responsible for building out new platforms to meet the needs of all product lines. You will understand and analyze the market, looking for opportunities for new products or product enhancements. Working closely with the Engineering, Sales, and Marketing teams, you will manage customer feedback and requests, prepare product documentation, define new products and features, and demonstrate & train a range of products to new and existing customers.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Owning the roadmap for specific areas of the business
• Working with the Sales and Marketing teams to ensure all communication is accurate, well timed, and suitably informative
• Working with the Engineering team to define detailed requirements and provide appropriate workflows and wireframes as needed
• Understanding the market, conducting gap analyses, and writing business cases for new products
• Demonstrating products at Sales events and directly to customers
• Delivering training on a range of Products

Your Qualifications

With experience in product management, you have great knowledge on product roadmaps, writing product requirements, and managing projects. Your experience has ideally come from a similar industry, such as security, defense, or communications. You have excellent communication skills and are able to speak on highly technical concepts to a wide range of stakeholders with varying levels of technical knowledge. Additionally, your organizational skills and attention to detail are top notch, and you are comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment.

Your qualifications include:

• 2+ years in a Product Management type role
• Experience working with software teams in an agile environment
• Experienced at writing product requirements
• Success in delivering technology products/services in a high growth environment
• Experience in communications, defence, or security markets is beneficial
• Organized and detail oriented
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Collaborative with a positive attitude
• Must be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Dependable, self-starter, and a self-motivated, innovative problem solver
