As the Product Manager, Compliance with Payworks, you will help ensure that our human capital management products--including Payroll and HR--remain fully compliant across Canada.


Reporting to the Vice President, Product, the Product Manager, Compliance will take a proactive approach to monitoring regulatory changes and identifying potential compliance risks. You will also serve as a trusted advisor to internal teams--interpreting evolving legislation and regulations, providing expert guidance and helping shape product decisions in a dynamic human capital management industry. Your work will play a key role in supporting both Payworks and our clients in delivering accurate, reliable and compliant workforce management solutions.

- IT'S WHAT YOU'LL DO



Stay ahead of the curve -

You will continuously monitor and interpret federal and provincial legislation impacting Payworks' human capital management products, including but not limited to, tax laws, employment standards and benefits regulations. You will analyze complex legislative changes and translate them into clear, actionable compliance measures for our product team. As the go-to expert on regulatory updates, you will assess their impact early and help ensure our offerings remain accurate, reliable and fully compliant across all jurisdictions.

Champion product compliance -

You will work closely with Product Development teams to ensure our products and services align with evolving legal and regulatory requirements. This includes defining and documenting compliance best practices, guiding product planning decisions and validating system changes as needed. Your input will directly influence how we maintain accuracy and compliance in everything we build.

Advise the business -

You will collaborate with technical and non-technical internal to provide expert guidance and training on product compliance matters. You will support both internal teams and clients with clear, practical advice and consult on strategic initiatives to embed a compliance mindset from the start. Through clear communication and engaging presentations, you will also empower others with the knowledge they need to support compliance.

Mitigate risk -

You will identify and assess compliance risks and recommend strategies to mitigate them effectively. You will conduct or assist in Internal Audit/ERM compliance investigations and audits, maintain accurate compliance documentation and contribute to reporting for senior leadership. Your diligence will play a key role in upholding regulatory standards and organizational accountability.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED



A Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, Finance, Law or a related field. 5+ years of experience in payroll compliance, payroll administration or a related regulatory role--ideally within a payroll outsourcing or HR services environment. Strong knowledge of Canadian human capital management legislation, including payroll tax regulations and employment standards across multiple provinces. Experience with HCM software providers or SaaS payroll platforms is an asset. Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex legislation and apply it practically. Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to advise both technical and non-technical audiences. A proactive and detail-oriented approach, with excellent organizational and time management skills.
