What you\xe2\x80\x99ll do

Product Manager, Sport Chek develops products that meets pre-determined gross margin targets and retails, supporting the Brand direction and meeting customer/merchant needs. Communicates the specifications and product details to Sourcing and Suppliers overseas and in Canada.

Manages the development process. Interacts with Design, Brand, Sourcing and Quality Assurance to distribute product technical details and assure the accuracy, legality, and integrity of all product performance claims.

Prepares and maintains seasonal assortments and manages, plans and tracks the development schedule of all products to ensure a timely completion following the predetermined product development calendar.

Maintaining and ensuring the continuous integrity of all product construction information (Tech Packs), Bill of Materials (BOM) and PLM system.

Develops products that meet or exceed predetermined gross margin targets and retails and optimizes the assortments to meet the Merchants\xe2\x80\x99 needs.

Ensure the designs meet all the requirements of the design brief and the brands quality standards, through collaborative sample reviews with all stake holders and manufacturing partners.

Partners with our Overseas Teams to ensure the superior quality and timely delivery of sales samples each season.

Track and facilitate sampling and prototyping for products; identifies and addresses key issues and challenges in construction/manufacturing and plans accordingly to deliver proven and tested product.

Research market and industry to bring innovative products and product trends.

Possess an entrepreneurial spirit, a bias for action, and a desire to work with key stakeholders to drive innovation in the retail environment and in-store e-commerce.

Demonstrates a desire to help and is proactive, responsive, and focused on discovering, anticipating, and exceeding the customer\xe2\x80\x99s needs.

Is detailed-oriented, solution driven and fast acting in a high pressure environment

Recovers quickly after change, disruptions, or mistakes and can remain productive and focused.

The ability to travel to trade shows, major shopping markets and supplier meetings in North America and Europe and the Far East, if required.

What you bring

Post Secondary degree in or diploma in fashion/apparel or business with an understanding of sourcing, sales and merchandising

Understanding in apparel buying, sourcing and assortment building

Experience being a team leader and ability to contribute as a team player.

Experience dealing with off shore sourcing and sourcing and manufacturing in Canada is an asset

Proven excellent verbal and written communication skills and a critical thinker.
