We\xe2\x80\x99re looking for our next Product Manager, Active Trader (contract). Could It Be You?

Lead and manage the product strategy and life-cycle of Questrade\xe2\x80\x99s Active Trader platforms to continually increase market share and drive product and feature adoption.

This is a 12-month contract position.

What\xe2\x80\x99s it like working as a Product Manager, Active Trader (contract) at Questrade?

You will work closely with cross-functional teams; supporting the execution and implementation of product-driven initiatives focused on the active trader segment. This includes setting product development priorities, providing input and direction to agile teams, assisting in the creation of business requirements and active trader management support for the Investing Products team.

In this role, responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Squad Leadership Responsibilities

• Translate high-level business requirements and key results into Epics and Features for agile teams.
• Work with agile squads on prioritization and definition of features.
• Ensure timely delivery of committed development tasks.
• Provide a business lens to the work of each squad.

• Focus on the day-to-day backlog management (defining, prioritizing and escalating)
• Act as the initial escalation point for issues and engage other leaders (if needed) to remove impediments and blockers
• Responsible for driving outcomes toward Mission and Journey-level objectives and tracking progress against key results
• Provide strategic expertise and guidance to other Product Managers & Squad Leaders
• Provide training, coaching, development, and on-going feedback in partnership with formal functional leaders of squad members on an as needed basis.

Project Oversight and Coordination

• Support the product team in documenting clearly defined requirements for strategic initiatives.
• Report regularly on agile Squad statuses for key product initiatives.
• For both new projects and ongoing programs, provide SME knowledge support to marketing and oversee the coordination of marketing tactics as aligned to the project strategy to ensure business goals are met.
• Identify risks and challenges that could impact projects and make recommendations on how to adapt as necessary to achieve goals and keep projects on schedule.

Product Management

• Participate in market research, compliance support and ongoing competitive intelligence.

• Have a working knowledge of the self-directed investment industry
• Have knowledge of the active trader marketplace, competitive platforms and user needs is highly desirable
• Have strong communication, problem solving, negotiation and project management skills
• Are organized and deadline driven
• Are an assertive self-starter
• Have high energy and a desire to work in a results oriented, fast-growing environment
