PURPOSE
Reporting to the Director of Imports, the Product Development Specialist will work closely with the Design team to develop knitwear, denim and outerwear with the factories. Additionally, the Product Development Specialist will collaborate with key suppliers to communicate company standards, design and quality.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Daily communication with factories to follow up on development styles and sample requests (fabrics, fit samples, duplicates)
Create tech packs, including basic specs and artwork
Communicate any issues that may cause delays in meeting customer deadlines
Organize and maintain consistent and accurate information for design, development and the sales team (technical packages, artworks, fabric sourcing)
Regularly review and develop best practices to optimize product development procedures and ensure efficiency
Ensure coordination between sampling, production and the technical department
Maintain line sheet
Update PLM
Approve lab dips, trims, bulk yarns, assist in fittings
Assist in preparation of tech packs
Identify product and quality issues and communicate them clearly to vendors
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
3-5 years of experience in a similar role
Fashion Design diploma or degree
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines
Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
Must have excellent knowledge of Adobe Illustrator
Bilingual (English and French)
Strong knowledge in garment construction and fabrics
