Product Development Manager

Join us as our next Product Development Manager and lead our team in creating innovative, high-performance products from concept to launch. You'll own the entire development process driving design, testing, regulatory approvals, and process improvements while ensuring every product meets our standards for quality, reliability, and value. With your HVAC/refrigeration or mechanical systems expertise, leadership skills, and passion for innovation, you'll play a key role in shaping our product line and delivering solutions our customers can count on.



The successful candidate's responsibilities will include:



Owner and leader of all product development activities including business case development, product planning, project management, design & analysis, regulatory certifications, testing, production release, and lessons learned Providing project status reports for all active projects monthly Update and improve current gated product development processes, policies, and procedures and ensure they are followed Oversee designs to meet customer requirements such as cost, weight, service, reliability, and regulatory requirements Ensure designs utilize prescribed tools such as QFD, CAD, DFMEA, reliability, and safety in accordance with company and ISO procedures Ensure the product development team has the tools and training needed to achieve business objectives and execute the product plans Provide guidance and leadership to the product development team, and other designers and technicians Supporting and leading projects related to the design standardization of all models Managing project and customer order deliverables, documentation, and compliance with industry standards.

The ideal candidate for this position will have:



B.S. in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) Registration as a professional engineer with EGM, or eligible to obtain registration A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in HVAC/refrigeration and mechanical systems, with knowledge of air handling and energy recovery equipment considered an asset Understanding of electrical and controls related to heavy-duty mechanical or HVAC equipment A minimum of 3 years' experience leading a team Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills Able to communicate and present effectively to executive team and customers Proficiency in 3D CAD software (ideally SolidWorks) and MS Office applications Experience with PDM, PLM, ECNs, bills of materials and MRP/ERP systems Expert knowledge of product development processes and design for manufacturability concepts Able to demonstrate prior experience in scaling up products for production is considered an asset A team player and problem solver who leads by example and is willing to roll up their sleeves
