About Branch

Branch is shaking up the $46B office furniture industry to create an office experience for the 21st century: easy, affordable and flexible so you can sit down (or stand) and get to work.

We\'re based in NYC and backed by the investors behind household brands like Quip, Caraway and Peloton. Our founders arrive with experience in partnerships, real estate acquisitions and venture building at leading real estate companies like Oxford Properties, SL Green and Redfin.

We\xe2\x80\x99re an ambitious group of problem solvers innovating across software, design and logistics, and we\xe2\x80\x99re looking for entrepreneurial teammates who like a challenge.

The Role

We are looking for a Product Development Associate (physical product) to help grow our product portfolio with the highest level of quality and user experience. You\xe2\x80\x99ll manage the development, launch, and ongoing improvements of beautiful, functional, and accessible office furniture and accessories for both our direct to consumer and contract office furniture product lines.

The ideal candidate has a deep appreciation for furniture design and manufacturing, and will apply detailed management and technical problem solving skills to all developments consistently. In your first 90 days at Branch, you\xe2\x80\x99ll collaborate closely with our Director of Product Development, and product design and operations teams to learn, build, and maintain critical processes to keep multiple product developments progressing smoothly and on-time. In partnership with our overseas team, you\xe2\x80\x99ll help establish and develop to quality standards with existing and new manufacturing partners.

This is an incredible opportunity to help build the product development function at a category-defining, well-funded, and rapidly-growing startup. If you\'re truly passionate about exceptional product development and want to improve the objects we interact with for eight plus hours a day, we\xe2\x80\x99d love to meet you.

Day To Day

  • Support the end-to-end development process; working with design, engineering, marketing, and operations teams to maintain an ongoing calendar and cross functional deliverables
  • Support and lead the development of exceptional office furniture and accessories; executing on design vision and direction, from early development and sourcing, to prototyping, and finally to production launch and lifecycle management. Develop furniture to support a comprehensive quality program across the Branch supply chain and product portfolio.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Product Development and design and operations teams to maintain and update a nimble set of management tools to track project status, costs, specifications, milestones, product quality, and supplier communications.
  • Engage in daily communications with global manufacturing partners to maintain day-to-day activities while building a best-in-class supply chain.
  • Partner with operations and customer experience teams to collect customer feedback and drive continuous improvements of existing products that enhance quality and optimize costs.
What We\xe2\x80\x99re Looking For
  • 3+ years of experience at a design-led product company, or product development consultancy, ideally in the furniture space. Proven experience developing exceptional products that users love.
  • Proficient in furniture construction methods, materials, and manufacturing processes. Understanding of tolerances and various quality control methodologies.
  • Motivated self-starter with a thirst to learn; thinks ahead, and can help identify and navigate hurdles that are inherent to the product development process.
  • Superlative attention to detail and organization within a fast-paced, rapidly growing startup environment.
  • Experience working within an in-house product development process with/for a variety of stakeholders. Passion for defining process, implementing quality, and producing clear documentation
  • Experience with product testing and compliance requirements and quality assurance standards.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication.
  • You are located in the New York City area. We offer a flexible hybrid work from home + office schedule. Must be able to receive, assemble, and thoroughly evaluate furniture prototypes at our New York Office; and join a weekly Monday evening call with our team in China
  • Occasional domestic and international travel
