PRODUCT DESIGNER

Maison Battat Inc. - Montreal QC

Battat is a privately owned international business located in Montreal that has been in North America for over 45 years. We are in the business of designing and manufacturing high quality educational and innovative toys and have experienced constant growth over the years. We are a team of dynamic individuals in an organic environment through which we all grow and in turn contribute to the company\'s success.

We are looking for a talented and motivated PRODUCT DESIGNER to join our doll division.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for ideation of toy concepts from design to production;
• Develop concepts and support them visually (colors, materials, images);
• Prepare production-ready technical designs using Illustrator;
• Follow-up of the designs until the final stage of production;
• Work in partnership with Lead Designer, in-house Packaging team, Product Engineers and Sample

Makers overseas;

• Understand toy play patterns and category dynamics based on consumer driven insights;
• Evaluate trends and identify new play experiences for children;
• Work within deadlines and budgets;
• Quickly and efficiently identify and prioritize requirements across multiple projects;
• Understand packaging parameters as they effect product specifications.

Skills, Competencies & Requirements:

• Proficiency with a variety of software and design tools including Adobe Illustrator, Adobe

Photoshop;

• Knowledge of MS Office, specifically Excel;
• Great communication skills to clearly explain design decisions both verbally and written;
• Excellent knowledge of English to deal with the foreign divisions;
• Able to multitask effectively and manage priorities;
• Autonomy, attention to detail and team spirit;
• Strong sense of responsibility;
• Willingness and flexibility to take on special projects and tasks;
• Work well in a team of creative minds;
• Creativity and resourcefulness in finding solutions;

Experience:

• 3 years of relevant professional experience in the fashion and/or product design field.
