Product Designer (on-site in Brantford)



Reporting to the Design Lead, you will produce and revise engineering drawings with accuracy using SolidWorks and AutoCAD, supporting the resolution of technical issues from Production. Using your strong communication and teamwork skills, you will coordinate projects with both internal and external personnel to deliver high quality results.

What will YOU be doing as a Product Designer?



Use SolidWorks and AutoCAD to produce and revise engineering drawings; create CAM files for numerous CNC machines. Maintain accuracy of bill of material (BOM) items within the Mott system; resolve order conflicts. Support various improvement initiatives and opportunities. Plan and organize assemblies, weldments, subassemblies, and parts with the BOM Communicate with both internal and external personnel including: Engineering Manager, Engineering Project Coordinator, Manufacturing Technician, other Product Designers, Sales and Project Coordinators, IT, plant employees, and customers Provide backup to other Product Designers including those that may design for different departments.

What YOU bring to the table



A degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. At least 1 year experience in a design or engineering role (including co-op placements) Skilled in CAD software including AutoCAD and SolidWorks DriveWorks experience preferred Coding/Programming experience preferred Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to achieve quality standards. Highly organized with a keen attention to detail and the ability to multitask under pressure. Previous mechanical experience and understanding of bend allowances and sheet metal is an asset.
