Responsibilities:

As a member of the SharePoint Platform Design System Team, you will work with design, product, research, and engineering teams to define and create the foundational components, patterns, content and guidance that bring to life beautiful productivity and publishing experiences that are relevant and delightful to customers. You will conceptualize and design original ideas that bring simplicity and ease of use to complex design issues ranging from component definitions to interaction flows and navigation to content hierarchy and information design, as well as consider innovative and universal design approaches. You are a conceptual thinker as well as a craftsperson. Your design work is clean, focused and inspiring to others.

We are seeking a Product Designer 2 who will be able to design through all phases of the product cycle. You will have the opportunity to contribute thought leadership and exemplary work in a number of design areas including concepting and prototyping, information architecture, interaction design, and working with research and design development. You will focus on interaction-oriented experiences and flows, and areas like online authoring and design experiences. You will also have a command of layout and composition, and aesthetics such as typography, color theory, motion and imagery. You will work across a broad range of devices and platforms including tablets, phones, the web and more.

You will also work with a dedicated and passionate team of highly creative individuals, collaborating to accomplish shared goals in an agile environment. You must be able to collaborate across disciplines and articulate your design solutions across the team with a high level of influence and impact.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor\'s Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, or related field AND 3+ years experience working in product or service design

OR equivalent experience (e.g., experience using design thinking to solve problems).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • User-centric approach to design and an understanding of how to apply user research data.
  • An interaction focus and ability to create/ prototype design stories that articulate the desired user experience to the project team and stakeholders.
  • Ability to share your inspiration and creativity and make team members and partners better.
  • Command of visual design capabilities, including composition, layout information hierarchy, typography and color.
  • A working understanding of HTML, CSS.
  • Command of the latest tools for the craft, especially Figma.
  • Create/prototype design stories that articulate the desired user experience to the project team and stakeholders
  • Passion for design and ability to effectively share your point of view and expertise with project team members.
  • Effective verbal and written communication
