Job Overview

Your role will be focused on entrepreneurial sales, where product development, storytelling and direct consumer events and sales are a continuous and connected conversation. You'll be exposed to product development projects and production challenges/opportunities all the way through to end-use consumer behaviour, deepening your appreciation for storytelling marketing and receiving real-world feedback for what kind of storytelling works and doesn't work in such a noisy landscape.
Marketing & Brand Development: (40%)
Assist in developing and implementing digital marketing strategies to tell our story, engage customers, and excite them with company updates.
Examples:
- A content series where you cook and film various recipes - help develop your own cooking show-
Network with other local brands to create content and giveaways
Filming events and community outreach initiatives
Capturing various video content of Victoria/BC's geography and special events
Create and schedule content for Instagram and other platforms to grow brand presence
Develop a comprehensive email campaign with multiple experiences for different customer segments
Capture content of store demos and events
Note: you will be working as part of our marketing team and have some flexibility to choose the projects and activities that best enhance your learning and career objectives and align with your passion.
In-Person Sales, special events and brand ambassador work: (50%)
Travel to and represent Slow Sunday Foods at consumer events, pop-ups, and festivals around Metro Vancouver.
- Engage with and learn from customer
Assist in organizing and hosting in store sampling events, tastings, and brand activations.
Attend various community and brand-building events.
Community outreach

Location and schedule details (approximate breakdowns):
Location: This is a hybrid position that offers a flexible schedule.
40% remote
: at home and cultural and outdoor locations around Victoria.
For this part of the role you may create a schedule that best suits you. It may be the same every week, or you can communicate on our project management system what hours you'd like to work each week
50% at various stores and markets/events around Victoria.
Events will have specific schedules.
You have some flexibility to schedule store events according to your preferred schedule.
You may do some events on your own, and some as part of a team that will include our founders.
10% at pre-planned locations around Victoria

Qualifications we're looking for
1-2 years of experience in marketing, sales, food service, or direct customer engagement.
Familiarity with social media platforms
Email marketing experience
Confidence in video storytelling, or a basic understanding with an eagerness to grow through participation.
Passion for food, the food business and excited to learn about how to create a scalable food business
Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with customers both online and in person.
Highly organized, adaptable, and able to take initiative and multitask.
A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle (some travel required).
Physically able to lift 25 lbs occasionally (for markets).
An optimistic and growth mindset - a view of challenges, big and small, as opportunities to create something better
