Job Description


At SMS Equipment, our Product Coordinator is responsible for the administration of construction and forestry products and attachments. This includes, the ordering of equipment, preparation of cost sheets and invoicing. We are looking for a candidate with a broad skill set who can coordinate a variety of day-to-day functions. This position is in Acheson AB. The salary range for this position is $51,000 - $61,000 based on experience. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Prepare and enter purchase orders and confirm receipt of order acknowledgement from suppliers.
  • Assist branches in documentation and processing of stock arrivals.
  • Arrange freight through logistics department for equipment ordered.
  • Prepare construction cost sheets either through working with Sales personnel on specific deals or creating a standard format to be provided to Regional Sale Managers.
  • Amend standard cost sheets for changes to foreign exchange, freight factors, etc.
  • Code invoices received from suppliers that are reviewed and reconciled to the cost sheets.
  • Review sales documents to confirm amount to be invoiced as part of a sale or rental.
  • Prepare invoices for equipment sales and rentals.
  • Issue invoices either directly to the customer or provide to the Regional Sales Managers.
  • Record cost of sales accruals for branches to invoice equipment.
  • Work with the vendor pricing departments to request and process post sales credits in a timely manner.
  • Prepare General Purchase Orders.
  • Reconciliation of foreign exchange and freight through \xe2\x80\x9cwash out\xe2\x80\x9d sheet.
Qualifications: The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years experience in either sales or administration. Other requirements include:
  • Ability to work constructively and positively across departments to ensure the needs of the organization are achieved.
  • Strong customer service skills for dealing with internal and external customers.
  • Advanced knowledge of computer software, including Microsoft, ERP and database systems.
  • Possess a strong financial accumen.
  • Ability to work in a demanding environment with strict deadlines and tight schedules is required.
  • Attention to detail and able to follow well established processes.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Equipment Distribution or related industry experience is an asset.
