ROLE OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Manager, Product & Channel, the Product & Channel Specialist 1 will primarily support the development, management, implementation and evolution of ACU's product and channel strategies required to achieve ACU's growth, financial sustainability and social impact objectives. The position is responsible for evaluating new product opportunities, enhancing existing ones, and supporting ACU's key channels through analysis, market research, business case writing and tools to help support the right advice, products and services. This role supports ACU's commitment to rural and agricultural communities, francophone services, values-based banking, respectful workplace and diversity, equity and inclusion
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Product & Channel Planning

  • Conducts research and analysis to identify opportunities for modifying existing products, programs, and channels or launching new ones
  • Identifies and evaluates product, program, offer, and channel development opportunities aligned with strategic focus areas
  • Plans roadmaps that include removal of products or services, works with data and market research to monitor specific product and channel industry trends and advances
  • Develops reports to include in annual and other operational planning activities
  • Creates and maintains critical business documents for assigned products and channels including product and channel roadmaps, business cases, business requirements, positioning documents, etc.
Product & Channel Development & Execution
  • Supports product and channel related projects as a subject matter expert
  • Works with internal partners to ensure products and services are charging the way they are supposed to charge
  • Works as a team member or project lead with cross-functional teams including marketing, Digital, PMO and IT to build and launch new products and/or channels and enhance existing ones
  • Coordinates the introduction and removal of products, services, programs, channels
  • Develops and presents Channel Activation tools such as personas, product positioning and competitive positioning that tie into Marketing campaigns
  • Creates Marketing and Advice KPI reporting for branch leaders on a monthly basis
  • Works with the Data and Analytics team to develop call lists based on segmentation and presents the list to the Advice and Service Delivery leaders
  • Works directly with third party vendors to identify opportunities and implement changes
Product & Channel Management & Support
  • Develops and maintains performance dashboards of assigned products and channels
  • Monitors performance against dashboards of assigned products and channels to ensure corporate goals and marketing objectives are being met
  • Works with channels and Marketing Programs on adjustments required if objectives are not being met
  • Monitors the life cycle and performance of assigned products and/or channels and reports on alignment with corporate objectives and strategies
  • Participates with other subject matter experts in product, service and channel fee reviews
  • Engages other departments and vendors to assess effectiveness of product and channel operation
  • Provides technical support including resolution of second tier escalations for assigned products and/or channels
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
The competencies for the position would typically be acquired through the achievement of a post-secondary degree or diploma with emphasis in marketing, business or technology, plus two to four years of job-related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Location & Work Environment
This position is anticipated to be a hybrid role, with at least one in-office day each week and the potential of infrequent travel potentially required to locations across Manitoba to support organizational needs.
