Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Produce Manager Assistant to help oversee the daily operations of our produce department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing inventory, supervising staff, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining standards. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and a comprehensive understanding of retail and foodservice management to ensure the department operates efficiently and profitably.

Duties

Lead and supervise the produce department team, including training, and evaluating staff to foster a productive work environment. Manage inventory control by ordering, stocking, and merchandising produce items to meet customer demand while minimizing waste. Oversee pricing strategies, sales promotions, and merchandising to maximize sales and profitability. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, sanitation standards. Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction. Coordinate with suppliers for purchasing fresh produce and negotiating favorable terms. Implement marketing initiatives to promote produce sales and attract new customers. Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, updates, and training opportunities.

Qualifications

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage inventory, pricing, and merchandising effectively. Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases. Demonstrated leadership capabilities including team management, training & development, and employee orientation. Knowledge of inventory management software and purchasing procedures. Strong negotiation skills for vendor relations and purchasing negotiations. Familiarity with marketing strategies within retail and food service settings to boost sales performance. Other duties as required.

Pay: $45,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
