Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Produce Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the freshness and quality of our produce section while providing exceptional customer service. This position involves engaging with customers, maintaining the cleanliness of the produce area, and assisting with inventory management.

Responsibilities

Greet customers and provide assistance in selecting fresh produce items. Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the produce department, ensuring all products are well-displayed. Stock and rotate fresh produce items to ensure maximum freshness and quality Inspect produce for quality, removing damaged or spoiled items Maintain cleanliness and organization of the produce department, including coolers and prep areas Provide excellent customer service by answering questions and assisting with selection Follow food safety and sanitation standards, including proper storage and handling Assist in receiving and unloading produce shipments Monitor inventory levels and communicate restocking needs to supervisors Operate cash registers and handle transactions accurately while providing excellent cashiering services. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient operation of the department. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations regarding food handling and storage.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred Prior grocery or produce handling experience is a plus but not required Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in cool or wet conditions Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety Excellent customer service and communication skills A strong commitment to cleanliness and maintaining high standards in food safety. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
