Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Produce Clerk to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the freshness and presentation of produce, assisting customers, and ensuring efficient store operations. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent customer service abilities to create a positive shopping experience for our customers. Prior experience in grocery or retail environments is preferred, along with familiarity with inventory management and warehouse equipment.

Duties

Stock and replenish produce displays, ensuring products are fresh, properly labeled, and attractively arranged Manage inventory levels using RF scanners and inventory control systems to minimize waste and stock shortages Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts safely for loading, unloading, and moving produce Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of produce areas, including cleaning shelves and packaging stations Assist customers with selections, answer questions about produce items, and provide excellent customer service Conduct shipping & receiving activities, including loading & unloading deliveries efficiently Support merchandising efforts by organizing displays to maximize sales potential Perform routine maintenance on equipment and ensure compliance with safety standards Handle cashiering duties when needed, including scanning items and processing transactions accurately Utilize retail math skills for inventory counts, pricing adjustments, and stock rotation Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth store operations and meet sales goals

Qualifications

Previous experience in grocery store or retail sales preferred; warehouse experience is a plus Knowledge of inventory management systems and RF scanners beneficial Ability to operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts safely Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in stocking, merchandising, and inventory control Physical ability to perform heavy lifting regularly (up to 50 pounds) and stand for extended periods Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are advantageous for serving diverse customers Basic retail math skills for pricing, stock counts, and sales transactions Good cleaning habits to maintain a sanitary environment in produce areas Customer service orientation with friendly communication skills to assist shoppers effectively

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 - 20 per week
