Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Produce Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the freshness and quality of our produce section while providing excellent customer service. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members.

Duties

Ensure all produce is clean, fresh, and properly displayed to attract customers. Maintain inventory levels by monitoring stock and reordering as necessary. Assist customers with their selections, providing knowledgeable recommendations and answering questions about products. Operate cash registers for transactions, ensuring accurate handling of cash and credit payments. Collaborate with team members to maintain a clean and organized work environment. Perform regular inspections of produce for quality assurance, removing any damaged or expired items. Utilize forklifts when necessary to move large quantities of produce safely within the store. Promote sales through effective merchandising techniques and product knowledge.

Requirements

Previous experience in retail sales or customer service is preferred. Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain a clean and orderly workspace. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with customers and team members. Bilingual abilities are a plus, enhancing communication with a diverse customer base. Ability to operate a forklift safely; certification may be required. A passion for fresh produce and a commitment to quality customer service is essential.

Pay: $16.75-$21.90 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 16 per week
