Job Overview


We're seeking a Procurement Specialist to join our team and support the management of our organization's procurement activities. The Procurement Specialist responsibilities will include processing purchase orders, negotiating with suppliers and ensuring timely delivery of the orders, creating and maintaining an inventory, quality assurance and liaising with production department.

Responsibilities



Monitoring supplier performance and resolving issues and concerns. Conducting research on potential products, vendors, and services, and comparing price and quality to ensure the best deal. Comparing prices amongst various vendors in order to make sound purchasing decisions Researching and identifying prospective suppliers. Negotiating with vendors on price, mode of shipping, and delivery time Compiling data relating to supplier performance to enable evaluation Contacting suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery or invoice issues Scheduling purchase orders strategically to ensure continuity of supplies Expediting orders when supplies are low Determining the required materials and generating purchase orders Monitoring inventory and writing orders to refill stock. Preparing reports and maintaining accurate inventory and procurement records. Updating all records of purchased products. Writing reports on purchases made and performing cost analyses. Entering data concerning inventory and order amounts into the ERP Other tasks and initiatives as assigned

Skills and Requirements



Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills with the ability to consistently meet deadlines Innovative self-starter, detail-oriented and be able to work independently and as part of a multi-skilled team. Supply chain experience working on complex procurements or related experience in strategic sourcing and subcontract management. Experience with price analyses, source selection and justification 3+ years' experience as a Procurement Specialist or similar role Good working knowledge of purchasing strategies Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office and with business application software, purchasing and resource planning systems A bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management or a similar field will be an asset
