Your Opportunity:

The candidate will require the ability to: Interpret client needs, assess requirements and identify solutions to non-standard requests. Exhibit excellent time management and organizational skills. Employ initiative and self-sufficiency to work in areas of ambiguity. Demonstrate an understanding of contract preparation and interpretation pertaining to service delivery. Provide expertise in understanding and explaining contracts, various sourcing strategies and the contracting process to managers and staff and providing support in performing contract analysis throughout the contract life cycle. Display proven ability for critical thinking skills to identify delays or issues, conduct appropriate investigations and provide recommendations. Demonstrate proficiency in contract development including: identifying and managing contract risk, researching and developing deliverables, and other key performance indicators. Exhibit a strong commitment to operating within a team environment and the ability to motivate and inspire others to achieve common goals. Demonstrate a strong track record in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. RFx (i.e. a range of competitive bidding processes including RFP [both negotiated and Contract A/Contract B], RFQ, RFPQ, RFI).

Description:

As a Procurement Specialist III, you will showcase your excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively with staff and external vendors. You will develop new contracts and contract amendments that create value and mitigate risk to AHS. You will be responsible for coordinating all activities related to the competitive bidding process including RFx evaluations preparing contract documents, assisting with contract implementations and managing contracts within their assigned categories in compliance with AHS procurement processes, policies and guidelines.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of post-secondary degree in Business or Supply Management. Additional Required Qualifications:

Business training in core disciplines combined with supplementary courses (e.g. supply chain, economics, process efficiencies/Lean), business writing, negotiations, contract law, financial analysis, project management, and competitive bidding processes & flexible sourcing strategies). Experience in project coordination, commercial business dealings, contracting, contract management, quantitative and qualitative analytics, Capability to work independently in completing complex tasks with a high degree of integrity and transparency. Accountability for work products and meeting timelines are essential to success, including appropriate and timely escalation of risks and concerns to ensure adherence to project/service schedules. Literate in standard MS office application suite, at a minimum MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Proven capability to thrive in a remote office environment with ability to reliably travel to AHS sites as needed to meet operational requirements. Demonstrated ability to think and act strategically, applying sound business judgment, problem-solving skills, and business negotiation skills. Healthcare, government sourcing and supply chain experience is an asset. Accountable for Construction Sourcing and Facilities Contracting which supports including: Facilities Maintenance, Construction/Design, Property Management, Parking Services, Sustainability and Energy Management. Preferred Qualifications:

Specific operational experience and knowledge of the delivery of services/products related to construction and facilities maintenance & management within a hospital and/or non-hospital setting is preferred. Experience in complete life-cycle contract management is preferred. Combination of education and experience may be considered. Experience in MS Access, SharePoint, Visio are all assets.
