Procurement Specialist

to optimize our material management process and strengthen supplier performance. Reporting directly to the

Operations Manager

, this role ensures every project receives the right materials, at the right cost, on time -- driving operational reliability and profitability.

Key Responsibilities



Source, negotiate, and purchase materials and services to support on-time, on-budget project delivery. Build and manage supplier relationships to ensure reliability, quality, and cost efficiency across all vendors. Monitor inventory, purchase orders, and deliveries to maintain 100% job readiness and prevent material shortages. Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities through strategic negotiation, forecasting, and process improvement. Collaborate with project, engineering, and field teams to align procurement strategy with operational needs and timelines.

1. Source, Negotiate, and Purchase



Own the complete procurement cycle to ensure materials and services are secured efficiently and responsibly.

Identify and qualify suppliers capable of meeting technical specifications, delivery expectations, and quality standards. Develop and issue RFQs/RFPs, evaluate bids, and select vendors based on total value. Negotiate optimal terms covering price, payment, delivery, and warranties to protect company interests. Execute accurate purchase orders, track approvals, and maintain compliance with internal control processes. Ensure all purchases align with project budgets, timelines, and contractual obligations.

2. Build and Manage Supplier Relationships



Develop a reliable, high-performing vendor network that supports Maka Power's commitment to quality and uptime.

Establish clear communication channels with suppliers to proactively manage expectations and performance. Conduct regular performance evaluations and supplier scorecards to identify strengths, risks, and areas for improvement. Facilitate resolution of delivery, quality, or service issues quickly and professionally. Cultivate long-term strategic partnerships that yield consistent pricing, superior service, and mutual growth.

3. Monitor Inventory, Orders, and Deliveries



Maintain material availability across all active projects through disciplined tracking and coordination.

Monitor purchase orders, inbound shipments, and material usage in real time using ERP/MRP systems. Coordinate with warehouse and field teams to confirm receipt, quality, and accuracy of all deliveries. Maintain appropriate inventory levels to support active projects without overstocking or tying up capital. Analyze variances and resolve discrepancies between orders, invoices, and physical inventory. Ensure all procurement data, invoices, and records are processed accurately and on schedule to meet departmental targets.

4. Identify and Implement Cost-Saving Opportunities



Drive financial efficiency through strategic sourcing and continuous improvement.

Review historical spend data to uncover opportunities for bulk purchasing, consolidation, or supplier re-alignment. Benchmark market pricing and challenge supplier cost structures to achieve measurable savings. Participate in or lead supplier audits and contract reviews to strengthen accountability and transparency. Introduce process enhancements or automation tools that streamline purchasing and reporting workflows. Support management in developing recovery plans or business cases for key cost initiatives.

5. Collaborate Across Teams



Align procurement objectives with operational, engineering, and project execution goals.

Work with project managers and estimators to forecast material requirements early in the planning phase. Coordinate with engineering to ensure material specifications are understood and met by suppliers. Work alongside field supervisors to resolve material or delivery challenges impacting project timelines. Provide timely updates on order status, risks, and material readiness to all relevant stakeholders. Contribute to cross-departmental meetings, offering insights on supplier performance, inventory trends, and budget impacts.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $41,210.04-$70,000.00 per year
