Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Procurement Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in vendor management, sourcing, and negotiation to optimize purchasing strategies and maintain effective supply chain operations.

Duties

Develop and manage sourcing strategies for imported food and beverage products, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery. Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with international suppliers, distributors, and manufacturers. Coordinate import logistics, customs clearance, and compliance with Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), Health Canada, and CBSA regulations. Monitor supplier performance, manage purchase orders, and maintain accurate procurement records. Collaborate with internal teams (operations, marketing, finance) to align procurement with business needs. Track market trends, pricing, and new product opportunities in the global food and beverage sector. Manage supplier relationships and address quality or delivery issues promptly. Support inventory control and optimize stock levels for vending operations..

Experience

College diploma or bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, International Trade, or related field. 3+ years of procurement experience in food imports or FMCG (fast-moving consumer goods). Strong knowledge of CFIA, CBSA, Health Canada, and Canadian import regulations for food products. Experience in customs documentation, HS codes, tariffs, and logistics coordination. Excellent negotiation, supplier management, and communication skills. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills; able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to Have

Certification in Supply Chain Management (e.g., SCMP, CPSM).

Experience with North American, Asian, European, or specialty food imports.

Familiarity with sustainable sourcing practices.

Pay: $48,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
