Reporting directly to the QA Director, the Procurement/Sourcing Specialist will be responsible for providing procurement support for the business. This is a deadline-based, high-pressure work environment with ongoing projects for a variety of clients.

The Procurement/Sourcing Specialist will have some experience in handling procurement and sourcing projects and will be able to work independently with minimal supervision. The incumbent must be energetic, exceedingly well-organized, flexible, and must have the ability to interact with customers and staff in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, while remaining proactive, resourceful, and efficient. A high level of professionalism and confidentiality is crucial to this role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for consumables, direct, and indirect spend
  • Develop and execute yearly sourcing strategy for assigned portfolio of spend
  • Lead negotiations for assigned projects and categories
  • Order supplies, chemicals standards, equipment from approved Suppliers\' list only according to current SOP
  • Work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to improve and streamline processes
  • Work with internal business units to improve three key areas of consideration: quality, service and cost
  • Prepare and lead strategic Request for Proposal (\xe2\x80\x9cRFP\xe2\x80\x9d) for identified projects and categories
  • Responsible for managing Capex negotiations, spend, and approval process for Eurofins Canada - Toronto labs
  • Manage Canadian supplier relationships for Toronto labs
  • Assist with leveraging Eurofins Canada spend with Eurofins US spend by working with the National Service Centre Sourcing and Procurement Specialist
  • Qualify /requalify Approved suppliers, keep records.
  • Keep the Approved Supplier list current. Provide it for audits when requested.
  • Review/revise SOP for Purchasing and Qualification and requalification of suppliers including testing suppliers
  • Provide training to internal and external clients
  • Perform corrective action for the purchasing / re-qualification process if required
  • Revise supplier questionnaire including generation of questionnaire for calibration laboratories
  • Generate Supplier quality agreement template for calibration laboratories and testing laboratories
Qualifications

EDUCATION
  • Degree or advanced diploma in a science-related discipline or in SCM or a logistics-related discipline
  • Post-graduate education in pharmacovigilance, regulatory affairs, Quality Assurance or other relevant areas is preferred
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar field
  • Interpersonal skills to develop and manage relationships with internal customers and supplier
  • Ability to work with and influence key business unit leaders
  • Negotiate effectively with strong written and oral presentation skills
  • Strong supply chain or sourcing experience
  • Ability to think strategically with excellent quantitative skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Systems knowledge including Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Procurement systems aptitude and experience
  • Strong negotiation skills - must be able to influence and cooperate with internal customers for purchases and timelines
