Procurement Specialist - Full Time Permanent

THE OPPORTUNITY



The Procurement Specialist is responsible for the best total cost, just in time delivery of all materials and services required to support the operational, production, and administrative functions of Dynamic Source Manufacturing Inc. Including but not limited to; procurement of materials and services, negotiating cost reductions and implementation of contracts with suppliers, coordination of cost reduction opportunities and improvements, and reviewing and implementing best in class technology and alternative supply options. Develops and implements the required sourcing strategies to ensure continuity of supply of materials to meet production and NPI plans.

RESPONSIBILITIES



Purchase goods or services that meet the quantity and quality expectations of the organization. Control, coordinate and expedite the flow of all incoming materials, parts, and assemblies between departments and customers to meet or improve the shipping, departmental and master production schedules. Initiate tenders, consult with suppliers and review quotations, including spreadsheet analysis. Maintain detailed procurement records for all items or services purchased, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories. Review defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, suppliers, and others functional team members to determine corrective action and root cause analysis. Monitor item master to ensure inventory accuracy including ABC classification, bin location and components rationalization. Evaluate risk, assess, prepare forecasts, scenarios and other factors concerning the supply market. Identify high impact cost reduction opportunities. Monitor, review and seek PPV approval when pricing does not meet contracted price. Collaborate with both internal and external customers to provide optimal and cost-effective results. Leverage the organization's buying power to optimize costs, access new suppliers, reduce lead times, and guarantee supply. Establish logistics of delivery schedules, monitor progress and contact clients and suppliers to resolve problems. Foster supplier relationships through supplier performance measurement, external benchmarking, and continuous improvement initiatives. Build in-depth knowledge of the market and capabilities of key suppliers and maintain an awareness of emerging trends and issues. Monitor supply chain reporting systems to identify gaps and CI activities.

QUALIFICATIONS



Degree/Diploma in Supply Chain Management or 5+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or a related field, within a face paced manufacturing industry, preferably electronics. Quoting/estimating experience within the electronics industry. Extensive knowledge and experience in managing, negotiating, and creating supplier contracts and world class supply programs. Experience working with ERP systems (Made2Manage is an asset). Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Expert proficiency with Excel (Pivot Tables & VLOOP's). Excellent organizational skills, and the ability to multitask and effectively prioritize and perform tasks efficiently. Strong initiative-taker with the ability to collaborate with various teams to achieve results and meet targets in a demanding environment.

SKILLS



CPIM, CSCP or SCMP certification is considered an asset. Cost Control and Financial Alignment. Familiarity with demand forecasting techniques. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
