Gas Liquids Engineering (GLE) is a well-established, privately-owned engineering firm providing EPCM services to the energy industry, including project management, engineering, drafting and design, procurement, construction management and regulatory services.
We are currently seeking a Procurement Specialist to work on a variety of challenging and innovative projects in natural gas, oil, fractionation, carbon sequestration, hydrogen generation, power generation and transmission projects.
As a member of our procurement team your responsibilities, will include, but are not limited to:
Analyze, organize, negotiate, and manage purchasing activities in line with company and client procedures.
Prepare and issue RFPs/RFQs based on project requirements.
Support package managers and vendors during technical and commercial proposal development.
Maintain confidentiality throughout all bidding activities.
Evaluate commercial bids, perform clarifications, and lead negotiations when needed.
Work closely with project managers and technical teams to meet procurement deliverables.
Issue purchase orders and change orders, complete contract negotiations, and maintain project management records.
Develop and maintain procurement plans, POC registers, and expediting reports.
Participate in weekly progress meetings with clients, project teams, and vendors.
Oversee and support expediting to keep critical paths on schedule.
Monitor and track order status, verify shipping dates, and manage vendor documentation.
Reconcile packing slips, resolve overages/shortages or damages, and record electronic receipt of goods.
Approve vendor invoices after verifying equipment receipt or service completion.
Confirm final invoice submission and close out purchase orders.
Ensure all documentation is reviewed, complete, and properly archived.
Requirements:
A minimum of 3+ years procurement experience in the Oil & Gas Industry.
Post-secondary certification or equivalent hands-on experience; a degree in business or supply chain management is an asset.
Strong knowledge of supply chain, inventory, production, warehousing, transport, logistics and T&Cs.
Strong understanding of contractual terms and progress payments.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
An understanding of project controls systems, project change management, project procurement systems and procedures.
Strong analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
Excellent organizational, communication (written and verbal), and negotiation skills.
Ability to work and adapt in a flexible, fast-paced environment.
Pay is commensurate with experience.
