Job Summary

This position serves as a direct procurement PLCM role supporting Manager, R&D and Launch, in providing direction for the sourcing management and strategy for Global R & D, Business Development and Global New Product Launch. The position leads the implementation of category management plans for all raw material (API, Excipients and Capsules). This position serves as the corporate function support for all sourcing activity required for New Product Development, New Product Launch and External Manufacturing projects being managed within Direct Procurement. In this role, the incumbent will liaise and work directly with the NPD, NPD & External Manufacturing Project Managers, Project Leaders, and other cross-functional stakeholders on the planning and delivery of materials for their projects. This position will report to the Manager, Global API Sourcing to serve Global Direct Procurement, to administer and organize projects and coordinating tasks. This position responsibility includes working closely with Sourcing Hubs, Global R&D, Supply Chain and other functional areas and resources to prepare comprehensive action plans, schedule and manage forums and do follow-ups, along with administrative duties, like maintaining project documentation and trackers duly updated.

This position serves as part of the Global Direct Procurement Corporate function for all sourcing activity required for New Product Development (NPD), New Source Qualification (NSQ) and Launch activities (NPL)

Job Responsibilities

Working closely with the Manager, R&D and Launch to prepare comprehensive action plans and follow up. Performing various coordinating tasks, like schedule and risk management, maintaining project documentation. Ensure that all projects are completed on time and meet high quality standards.

This involves but is not limited to:
Driving the project management process of the project(s), including: defining, planning, monitoring, and reporting API progress/performance against the project plan;
Updating trackers;
Driving the resolution of API delivery issues.
Works closely with NPD, NPL and External Manufacturing Project Managers/Leaders/Coordinators, and other stakeholders in planning, prioritization, evaluation, source selection, and procurement of Materials (APIs, Excipients, Capsules, etc) to support NPD, NPL or External Manufacturing submissions in alignment to the defined project timelines and strategy.
Proactively tracks and manages risks and resolutions of material-related issues or queries in a timely manner.
Maintain interaction with Global R&D, Business Development, Regional Sourcing Hubs, PLCM and Global New Product Launch team members in assisting with meetings, escalations, and provide support in the sourcing process.
Tracks delivery performance from all material suppliers and prepares monthly performance reports.
Support in leading Global Procurement strategic sourcing initiatives and projects effectively with stakeholders and cross-functional teams, delivering the required results.
Represent Direct Procurement team at meetings, collecting and organizing required information and distributing them accordingly in a timely manner.
Utilizes the models, systems, methodologies and software of NPD, NPL and External Manufacturing Project Management to plan manage and report/communicate direct raw materials progress/performance.
Contributes to the development and improvement of the operations of NPD, NPL and External Manufacturing Project Management, on an ongoing basis.

Job Requirements

Complete university degree in Business, Engineering and/or health sciences related field; MBA or other master\xe2\x80\x99s degree, or professional designation would be an asset; PMP is an asset
5+ years progressive experience the pharmaceutical, food or cosmetic industry.
3+ years proven experience in project management.
3+ years of procurement experience
Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
Excellent conflict management skills
Demonstrated experience in supervising, influencing and coordinating the complex activities and interaction of staff, including non-direct reports
Strong organisational skills; ability to work independently and manage priorities
Strong Leadership skills
Demonstrated knowledge of the generic new product development process
Excellent understanding of Project Management principles and practice in a complex environment
Knowledge of and experience with the MS-Office suite of products; with particular emphasis on MS-Word, MS-Excel, and MS-Project (or other PM software
