Procurement Officer
to join our growing team.
Position Summary
The Procurement Officer will oversee and manage the sourcing and purchasing of raw materials, packaging components, and production-related supplies. The ideal candidate will bring extensive knowledge of procurement processes, cost negotiation, supplier relationship management, and inventory optimization within a food manufacturing or consumer goods environment.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement effective procurement strategies and policies.
Identify reliable suppliers and negotiate optimal terms, including pricing, delivery, and quality.
Manage purchase orders, contracts, and procurement records.
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with production to ensure timely material availability.
Conduct market research to stay informed on trends and pricing fluctuations.
Evaluate supplier performance regularly and maintain strong, compliant supplier relationships.
Collaborate with the quality control and logistics teams to ensure materials meet standards and timelines.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and internal HACCP/quality assurance protocols.
Prepare procurement reports, budgets, and cost-saving analysis for management.
Qualifications and Skills
Minimum of 3-5 years of procurement experience, preferably in food manufacturing or bottling.
Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
Certification in supply chain or procurement (e.g., SCMP, CPP, or APICS) is an asset.
Strong negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and procurement software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, or similar ERP systems).
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Knowledge of vendor compliance, logistics coordination, and HACCP requirements is a plus.
