Procurement Manager

Position Summary

The incumbent is responsible for leading VIP's purchasing & procurements, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services that meet our quality standards and business needs. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong negotiation, analytical, and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement procurement strategies, policies, and processes that align with manufacturing and business objectives. Continuously optimize purchasing practices to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance value across the supply chain. Source, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers while maintaining strong, collaborative relationships with existing vendors. Monitor supplier performance to ensure consistent quality, reliability, and timely delivery of materials. Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to maximize cost savings and mitigate supply chain risks. Ensure all procurement activities comply with legal, regulatory, safety, and company requirements. Analyze procurement spend to identify cost-saving opportunities and support budget targets. Manage inventory levels to meet production demands while minimizing excess and waste. Partner with Production, Finance, Logistics, R&D, and Sales teams to align sourcing strategies with operational needs. Establish and track procurement KPIs, preparing regular reports on spend, savings, supplier performance, and risks for senior management.

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration or a related field. 5+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or SCM (manufacturing environment preferred). Proven track record of developing cost-effective procurement strategies and managing supplier relationships. Experience with ERP or procurement software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Coupa, or similar systems). Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials management, and supply chain logistics.

Key Skills

Excellent negotiation and contract management skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail. Proficiency in data analysis, cost modeling, and supplier performance tracking. Knowledge of procurement best practices, sourcing strategies, and supplier compliance requirements. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced production environment. Effective communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills. Leadership ability with experience managing teams or cross-functional projects. Familiarity with sustainability, risk management, and lean manufacturing principles is an asset.
