Procurement Manager Consultant, Non Profit Client Site, Northeast Toronto

Round Table Procurement Services (RTPS) provides procurement management and project-based services to clients of all sizes across Canada. RTPS specializes in collaborative procurement programs for groups of like organizations, particularly in the not for profit sector. Our approach focuses on long-term client relationships, front-line staff support and supplier partnership development as the means to drive meaningful, lasting results for our clients.
Responsibilities/Duties
This successful candidate will:
Work in a hybrid model: virtually and on-site in northeast Toronto two to three days/week (more often if preferred);
Represent the RTPS team in dealing with client staff and management.
Act as the day-to-day client point of contact for a consultant-run procurement service at a not-for-profit client organization with multiple locations in Toronto;
Work closely with the local client with support from the RTPS team based in the GTA and Hamilton;
Manage the day-to-day operation of the Procurement function for the Client, including oversight of the existing 1-person Client Procurement team;
Be responsible for working with local client staff and the RTPS team on the development and implementation of a procurement policy and strategy;
Develop and support new supplier agreements and other purchasing solutions, policies and processes, acting as a liaison between RTPS, suppliers, senior client management and the local client staff;
Leading Request for Proposals (RFP) and other supplier selection projects;
Assist in the review and development of supplier contracts;
Lead the development of the annual Procurement Activity Report (PAR) required for submission to Supply Ontario;
Provide local client user support, respond to queries, resolve issues;
Attend client operational and management meetings;
Skills Required
Excellent project management, planning, people, communications and problem-solving skills;
Experience in the nonprofit sector and/or the Broader Public Sector (BPS) Procurement Directive is preferred.
Good procurement/purchasing experience, and willingness to adapt to the company philosophies and approach;
Knowledge of/experience with procure-to-pay software applications;
Distinct customer service orientation;
Strong team-building skills;
Proven ability to motivate people, facilitate change and "get things done";
High capacity in dealing with uncertainty and a variety of challenges;
Solution-focused versus Problem-focused;
High energy level;
Ability to work with both senior and junior client staff effectively;
Ability to work individually and as part of a team;
Excellent general business acumen and desire to drive organizational improvements;
General computer skills; proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
Experience with executing Request for Proposal (RFP and other supplier selection projects);
Logistics
Report to the Principal, Procurement Team (Consultant Partner);
Work virtually and on-site in client offices in northeast Toronto two to three days/week;
This is a one-year full time contract, with the possibility to extend/renew.
Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Pay: $75,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
