Position Overview



The

Procurement Manager

is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the purchasing and supply chain function, including supplier management, strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and inventory optimization. This role requires a proactive leader with strong knowledge of LEAN procurement principles, ERP systems, and proven experience developing global and local supplier networks. The successful candidate will drive cost efficiency, improve procurement processes, and mentor a high-performing team of buyers.


Key Responsibilities



Supplier Management & Strategic Sourcing



Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with global manufacturers, local material distributors, and domestic suppliers. Develop and implement strategic sourcing initiatives to reduce material costs and improve supply chain reliability. Negotiate direct-to-manufacturer and long-term supply agreements that enhance value and reduce procurement risk. Engage regional suppliers to improve responsiveness, lower logistics costs, and strengthen local supply chain resilience.

Procurement Strategy & Inventory Optimization



Develop and execute procurement strategies that align with production schedules, cost targets, and company objectives. Optimize inventory turnover, lead times, and supplier performance to support operational efficiency. Monitor market trends, material pricing, and global logistics conditions to proactively adjust procurement plans.

LEAN Procurement & Process Improvement



Apply LEAN principles to streamline procurement workflows, eliminate waste, and enhance value-added activities. Collaborate cross-functionally with production, engineering, and design teams to ensure seamless alignment between procurement and manufacturing.

Leadership & Team Development



Lead, mentor, and develop a team of buyers and procurement professionals. Set clear performance metrics (KPIs) and conduct regular coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the procurement department.

ERP Systems & Data Management



Oversee purchasing and inventory operations within the company's ERP system. Ensure the accuracy of supplier data, purchase orders, and inventory records. Support ERP system upgrades and integrations to enhance reporting and supply chain visibility.



Qualifications



Bachelor's degree in supply chain management

, Construction Management, Business, Engineering

, or a related field (an asset)

5+ years

of progressive experience in purchasing or supply chain management, with

3+ years

in leadership capacity. Proven success in

vendor sourcing, RFQ management, and contract negotiation

. Strong understanding of

procurement workflows

, documentation processes, and best practices in manufacturing or preconstruction environments. Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and drive project and cost objectives. Excellent communication, negotiation, and cross-functional collaboration skills. Proficient with

ERP systems

and procurement data management tools. Experience managing both

global and local supply chains

in a manufacturing or construction-related industry.

Hours of Work



Averaging hour agreement 44-hour work week Monday to Thursday: 9 hours Friday 8 hours Flex Start 6 am - 9 am
