Overview

Are you passionate about procurement and contract practices and governance? Do you have exceptional analytical, investigative, and organizational skills? We are looking for Procurement Governance Specialists to monitor and execute end-to-end procurement related control activities and ensure compliance with required policies, practices, and standards. Your activities will include fostering a culture of compliance and risk awareness by conducting periodic compliance reviews, assessments, investigations, analyzing and presenting reports to management.

WorkSafeBC, we offer a hybrid work model that combines the convenience of working remotely with the dynamism of working in one of our offices, based on the operational needs of the position.

In this role, you\xe2\x80\x99ll work primarily from your B.C. home and occasionally in our Richmond office.

What you\'ll do

  • Assist in the development, review, and maintenance of procurement policies, procedures, and records across the procurement lifecycle
  • Investigate and respond to procurement and contracting compliance risk issues
  • Conduct periodic internal reviews / audits to ensure procurement decisions and activities comply with relevant policies, practices and standards
  • Perform and deliver the required analytics to support data-driven reporting
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of integrated end-to-end tools, templates, and processes that support the procurement lifecycle

  • Proactively monitor procurement activities and records to analyze and resolve operational, workflow and data issues
  • Provide a quality assurance role and to ensure compliance and consistency of procurement practice
  • Gather data, analyze information, prepare and present reports and metrics in a clear and concise manner, for various audiences
  • Provide working knowledge of compliance to trade agreements and identify potential risks
  • Establish and maintain credible and cooperative working relationships with peers, management and internal stakeholders
Your background and experience
  • A Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance or related discipline
  • A minimum of three years of experience in procurement/supply chain management, or closely related field
  • Experience in government or public sector environments is preferred
  • Experience and proficiency in data management, reporting and data analysis tools is preferred
  • Problem solving skills with the ability to exercise judgement to resolve related issues
