Overview

We are looking for a Procurement Governance Lead (Procurement Analyst) to join our Procurement Services department with a focus on governance and oversight of procurement performance to ensure adherence to applicable laws, policies, and legislation.

Reporting into the Manager Governance & Oversight, Procurement Services, in this role, youll research, develop, make recommendations, implement, and apply strategies to improve our procurement practices through standardization of processes, ensuring compliance to applicable laws and legislation, risk management and data and technology enablement.

Youll be relied on to interpret and apply legislative policy, acts, and procedures by participating in changes to procurement systems, providing training, informed advice, and recommendations on procurement policy and procedures. In addition, you may provide work direction to a variety of staff positions within Procurement Services department as part of leadership development.

Where youll work

WorkSafeBC, we offer a hybrid work model that combines the convenience of working remotely with the dynamism of working in one of our offices, based on the operational needs of the position.

In this role, youll work primarily from your B.C. home and occasionally in our Richmond office.

What you\'ll do

  • Assist in the development, review and maintenance of procurement policies, procedures, standards and records across the procurement lifecycle and apply these to monitor compliance and manage risk
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of integrated end-to-end tools, templates and processes that support the procurement activities
  • Drive initiatives to enhance the use of data-driven insights in day-to-day decision making, and providing analytical support across procurement where required to support various projects and business needs
  • Assist, participate in and lead projects with significant impacts on the organization to address emerging issues
  • Provide supervision and direction to junior team members helping them achieve corporate objectives and assisting the team through knowledge and application of leadership and team building skills and techniques such as group facilitation, coordination, coaching, problem solving, interpersonal communication, and integration of work processes and products

Were looking for someone who can:
  • Identify, define, analyze, and apply law and policy to issues and facts to assess impact, recognize relevance, evaluate options, and make recommendations
  • Effectively drive, communicate, and monitor the deployment, adherence and performance in processes and tools to ensure compliance and consistency in all procurement activities
  • Apply analytical and critical thinking skills to identify and respond to procurement and contracting compliance risk issues, including preparing required documentation and making recommendations to management on how to proceed.
  • Perform data analytics and provide analytical support to procurement and internal stakeholders
  • Use strong interpersonal skills to establish and manage cross-functional collaboration within procurement and internal stakeholders
Your background and experience
  • A bachelors degree or a post-secondary 2-year diploma in purchasing, business administration, economics, or a related discipline
  • A minimum of six years of progressive procurement and/or category management experience, that includes experience in a senior position or leading complex procurement projects
  • A Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation from the Supply Chain Management Association of Canada
Well consider an equivalent combination of education and experience.
