We invite you to use your skills with us and contribute to something meaningful and enduring.The OpportunityWe are currently seeking a Procurement and Inbound Logistics Manager to join our Commercial team in St. Johnxe2x80x99s. Relocation to Newfoundland & Labrador is required for this role.This is a permanent on-site position based in the St. Johnxe2x80x99s office, working a Monday to Friday schedule, with travel to Voiseyxe2x80x99s Bay Mine site and Long Harbour Operations as required.As the Procurement and Inbound Logistics Manager, you will provide leadership and strategic direction for the development and implementation of an Integrated Inbound Supply Chain area (procurement for operations and inbound logistics) for Vale Newfoundland and Labrador (VNL) operations, aiming to bring operational excellence, process efficiencies, and reducing cost.Additionally, in this position you will:

  • Implement an unprecedented transformation in materials management, leveraging change management & continuous improvement concepts, shifting the materials management culture, eliminating shadow inventory and implementing international best practices from the industry, fully integrating the warehouse function within the operations.
  • Develop capabilities and initiatives to enhance performance and reduce supply chain costs, implement benchmark processes and tools and provide solutions for all Procurement activities - aiming to minimize risks and contribute to safe, cost-effective and timely implementations.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of the Aboriginal agreements (IBAs) and other agreement types, assuring compliance with them as well as competitive commercial conditions for Vale in a sensative environment.
  • Optimize Total Cost of Ownership of categories for all Procurement activities, exploring but not limited to aspects such as price, logistics, relationship with communities, environment, safety, health, taxes, technical specification, operational usage, technical performance, mobilization/demobilization, risk management (financial, liability, quality assurance) and time (availability, NPV, date of need).
About YouEducation:
  • Undergraduate Degree in Business/Commerce or a relevant field of study.
  • An internationally recognized procurement or supply chain certification is preferred.
Experience:
  • A minimum of 11 yearsxe2x80x99 experience in Supply Chain and Logistics/Warehousing within the mining industry.
  • Experience with Logistics/Warehousing within a remote site would be a strong asset.
