Job Description

Cavendish Farms is a leading producer of frozen food products for retail and foodservice markets throughout Canada, the United States, and around the world. We have state-of-the-art potato processing plants in Prince Edward Island, Lethbridge, Alberta, and Jamestown, North Dakota, and an appetizer plant in Wheatley, Ontario. Our Head office is in Dieppe, New Brunswick and has sales office locations in Toronto, Montreal, and Boston.

Responsibilities

• Operates, disassembles, assembles or adds supplies to process equipment ensuring safety, product quality, sanitary conditions or equipment performance.
• Operate all equipment in the waste treatment area.
• Trains new hires as needed.
• Operates various pieces of equipment (starch machine, centrifuge, sludge pumps, waste water pumps, hycors, hoppers, desander) in the PWT area.
• Performs Temperature, PH and settling tests every 2 hours for product and system efficiencies.
• Compiles test information and enters into PWT logs on a daily basis.
• Loads starch and waste oil into trucks.
• Organizes and cleans the water treatment room, silt building and clarifier building.
• Checks clarifier for sludge depth. Dumps paper filter totes.
• Initiates actions supporting continuous improvement.
• Participate in Six Sigma projects and carry out new innovative ways to help reduce cost and waste.
• Informs the PWT Supervisor and production of any daily issues or problems relating to PWT.
