Apply now to an award-winning company!! *AFTERNOON SHIFT* Where does the Set-up Process Technician fit in? The Set-up Process Technician will be responsible for the safe and efficient setup of molds and operation of variety of injection molding machines to ensure quality and safety. What you can expect as our next Set-up Process Technician: Proficiently start up, shutdown, setup and troubleshoot injection molding machines. Review production processes and maintain required documentation Prepare, setup and removal of production molds/tooling as per schedule. Inspect molds for correct set up and check to ensure proper materials are at the press prior to start. Confirm with material handler that material is prepared (dried if needed) and available Monitor productivity of the injection molding process and production scrap. Optimize process to increase efficiency, product quality and reduce scrap Communicate with prior and oncoming shifts about work assignments, production expectations and promote shift interaction and awareness Review production schedule and coordinate with Shift Lead hand on priorities Identify and communicate mold/machine problems to Shift Lead hand and Maintenance Dept. Work with maintenance to identify machine related issues and tool room to identify mold related issues Recommend, participate in and implement continuous improvement initiatives. Maintain a clean and safe work environment, understand 5S principles. Perform all job functions in a safe and healthful manner, abiding by all health and safety rules and regulations. Ensures compliance to IATF systems and procedures Do you have what it takes to be be our next Set-up Process Technician? 2 to 5 + years of strong Technical/ Process / Setup experiences in the plastic injection molding industry preferred. Familiar with Scientific Molding techniques and methodologies an asset. Have familiarity with resins such as - PP, Nylon, Glass filled, TPE, TPU, ABS and other engineered resins. Strong knowledge of mold hot runner controllers, sequential valve gate auxiliary equipment, dryers, thermolators, etc. Working knowledge on functionality of robot, sprue pickers, end of arm tooling. Be able to learn 6 axis Fanuc and gantry style robots High degree of mechanical aptitude, highly focused and driven to learn Strong attention to detail and pride in quality of work Must be able to access root causes and solution-based thinking Good visual skills for assessing part quality Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team-oriented environment. Good verbal and written communication skills (able to read and write in English) Must be punctual, reliable and good work ethic. Working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and good manufacturing practices Familiarity of machine tonnages from 40 tons to 2400 Ton an asset Be flexible to work afternoons and night shift, and able to work overtime when needed Perks?!
