Nickel concentrate from the fly-in, fly-out Voisey\xe2\x80\x99s Bay operation is shipped to our state-of-art Long Harbour Processing Plant where it is refined into low-carbon and high-purity nickel rounds, cobalt rounds and copper cathodes.As a champion of process safety management, you will support the development and implementation of the necessary management systems to achieve a step change in process safety performance, reduce the catastrophic risks to the business, address the challenges facing our organization in achieving our goal of zero harm.The OpportunityWe are currently seeking a Process Engineering Student for the Fall 2024 semester to join our Health, Safety, and Risk team located at the Long Harbour Operations site in Long Harbour, NL. This is a fixed term (4-month) position.Additionally, in this position, you will:

• Process Safety Metrics - trend and analyze and provide technical assistance on our process safety metrics for Long Harbour
• Operational Process Safety Events \xe2\x80\x93 Provide guidance on process safety occurrences.
• Involvement with Process Hazard Analysis (PHAs) such as Hazops, What If analysis, and Bowtie analysis when high risk changes occur.
• Chemical Management Program and Committee Member - The Chemical Management Committee is in place is to establish guidelines and criteria for the following major processes of Chemical Management
• Involvement with Critical Risk Management (CRM) - Evaluating and ensuring the critical controls are in place and working every day. Utilize process engineering skills to identify issues and designs and controls requiring improvement.

• Currently enrolled as a student in Process Engineering (Co-op) Program

Skills:

• Solid verbal, written and analytical communication skills.
• Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal communication, analytical and problem-solving skills and a proven safety record are essential.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
• Flexible and adaptable mindset.
• Strong interpersonal mindset.
