Position Title:

Process Operator (Multiple openings, Weekday shift - Monday to Thursday, Weekend shift - Friday to Sunday)

Reports to:

Process Shift Supervisor

Shift Positions: Weekday Shift

- Monday to Thursday, 7.00 AM to 5.00 PM and additional times as required. Permanent position.

Weekend Shift

- Friday to Sunday, 7.00 AM to 7.00 PM and additional times as required. Permanent position.

During the ramp-up stages, every position will be required to work Monday to Friday, 7.00 AM to 5.00 PM and overtime as approved.



Supervisory Responsibilities:

Summary:

This hourly role is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of assigned process and packaging equipment within specified operating conditions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

include but are not limited to the following: (Management reserves the right to add or modify the duties and responsibilities at any time.)

Support and participate actively in all site-level HSE initiatives.
Understand and follow Company safety policies, site procedures, and relevant Alberta OHS legislation and execute safe work procedures and standard operating procedures properly.
Develop situational awareness, practice risk mitigation, complete FLHAs, JHAs, etc., report all incidents promptly, and ensure thorough and accurate documentation of worksite inspections and compliance activities.
Monitor process system in assigned area(s) and conduct in-process inspection and finished goods' sampling and testing.
Report any variances affecting quality to the process shift supervisor or designate and support troubleshooting efforts to implement corrective and preventive actions.
Monitor necessary raw material inventory and support the process shift supervisor to fulfill business demands and ensure that KPIs are achieved safely.
Maintain accurate and complete documentation including equipment inspection checklists, production records, etc., and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and manufacturing targets.
Maintain a clean work area and report issues promptly for resolution.
Be able to support and cover another shift if required.

Key Qualifications:

Trade certification in a relevant field and/or equivalent work experience operating process equipment.
A minimum of five years' experience in manufacturing, waste management, or environmental services.
Experience supporting HSE initiatives and/or membership in OHS committees are assets.
Process control room and HMI and PLC experience are preferred.
Have mechanical aptitude, be able to troubleshoot and resolve production issues, and collaborate with maintenance personnel when applicable.
Be proficient in using hand and power tools, lifting heavy items, and performing physical tasks as required.
Able to operate powered mobile equipment and follow necessary safe work procedures.
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
A working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is an asset.

Computer Skills:

Able to use HMI screens.

Language Skills:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret job related information including machine or component drawings and schematics and ability to write tool request and justification reports.

Mathematical and Reasoning Skills:

The ability to perform appropriate math functions pertaining to inventory control systems and maintenance disciplines. Ability to collect and accurately assemble data in a logical manner.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to carry/handle or feel, talk, and hear. The employee is required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 55 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision for appropriate inspections. The employee must be able to ascend and descend stairs multiple times a shift. Seasonal exposure to weather elements may include, but not limited to, extreme temperature, wetness, and humidity.
