The Hatch Metals team is seeking a
Process Engineering Trainee
, new graduate, with an interest in High Pressure Metallurgy. Reporting to the High Pressure Metallurgy Lead Process Engineers, you will support projects locally and globally based out of our Mississauga Head Office location.

As the successful candidate, you will:
Interpret laboratory and pilot results, and assisting clients in the development of test work programs;
Interpret laboratory results and other data in process design criteria;
Develop flow sheets;
Develop of mass, energy and water models and balances;
Equipment sizing and communication with vendors to ensure that equipment selected meets process needs;
Work with a project team, including development of layouts, piping selection, hazard studies, and development of process control philosophies;
Assist in materials of construction selection, preparing specifications and executing technical bid evaluations;
Report writing for studies;
Participate in plant start-ups and commissioning where required.
You bring to the role:
Must be working towards graduating in 2026, or recently graduated, with a Process Engineering, Mineral Processing, or Chemical Engineering degree from an accredited University.
Strong academic record.
Ability to evaluate metals (copper, nickel, cobalt, lead, zinc, tin, lithium, potash, phosphate, vanadium, uranium, etc.) processes by applying concepts of chemistry, heat and mass transfer, and thermodynamics to assist in the process modeling and design of process plants.
Ability to effectively utilize written and oral communication skills to describe, depict and explain their work to other team members.
Must have proven skills with MS Excel, Word, and Power Point.
