We are currently looking for an extraordinary full-time Production Engineering Specialist to join our passionate Unifiller Team. The ideal candidate will have a charismatic and dynamic personality along with relevant experience.
Your Purpose:
As the Production Engineering Specialist, you will provide support to the Production, Purchasing, and Planning departments. Your role is vital in ensuring the continuous improvement and efficiency of our manufacturing processes and product quality.
What You'll Be Doing:

  • Implement design improvements to standard machines and accessories by enhancing functionality, reliability, process efficiency, and manufacturability.
  • Modify and update Bills of Materials (BOMs) and routers according to production needs, including detailed design of machines and sub-assemblies.
  • Responsible for revision control and the timely phasing in and out of new part revisions.
  • Design, create, and document jigs and fixtures for fabrication, machining, and assembly as required.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives on purchased and manufactured parts.
  • Implement corrections and updates to existing drawings and BOMs to reflect current methods and standards.
  • Make drawing revisions and changes as proposed by the Document Controller and other engineering staff.
  • Maintain engineering information related to production within the company ERP system (M2M).
  • Specify and source new or alternative engineering components.
  • Source vendors when requested by Purchasing.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned to support production and engineering objectives.
Your Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary diploma or certificate in Drafting, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, with relevant experience with Unifiller equipment preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, with knowledge of machining, fabrication, and assembly processes.
  • Strong knowledge of Kaizen and lean manufacturing methods.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and MS Office.
  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems.
  • Excellent knowledge of pneumatic control systems.
  • Ability to create and interpret engineering drawings, familiar with standards for engineering drawings.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
