Your Role and Responsibilities

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible to developing a painting process that satisfies all requirements using existing process standards, outside processing requirements, information obtained from Marwood quoting department based on drawings and/or data supplied by customer.(RFQ/SOR)
  • Completing the E-Coat Process Planning Sheet( EPPS ) and responsible for approval / maintenance of.
  • Interact with Marwood Business units and sales to understand how the project timelines and cost targets impact product design / process.
  • Responsible to manage the timeline for design and build of paint racks.
  • Responsible to create and maintain buy-off forms related to paint racks.
  • Ensure that design controls are effective and follow Marwood standards in building custom paint racks and maximize square footage.
  • Assist vendor(s) with tooling / equipment design to ensure process requirements and tooling is capable of meeting or exceeding expectations.
  • Complete and or assist the Quoting Manager to produce an E-Coat Cost MCM to present to Sales.
  • Establish requirements based on benchmark testing and evaluation (if not defined).
  • Continuously identify process risks per Design and process FMEA's for defined requirements and implement process controls.
  • Identify control tolerances for painting used and issue recommendations to customer designers.
  • Identify component key features related to product requirements, which manufacturing can use to monitor and create check points for the processes, throughputs and efficiencies.
  • Assist with the completion of customer documentation.
  • Assist continuous improvement initiatives within the plant(s) to improve the processes, reduce costs and increase plant capacity
  • Contribute with inputs to process of product; help with initial work guidance' technical expertise, development and process flow etc.
  • Provide problem identification and resolution assistance to plant during launch and continuous improvement activities
  • Assist with and / or mentoring of Marwood employees within related department.
  • Undertake other duties and responsibilities within the department as required.
Key Requirements:
  • Minimum of 2 years quantified experience in related field of automotive paint manufacturing, paint rack design, new equipment as well as quoting equipment / process.
  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma or Equivalency plus College Diploma in the related field.
  • Design of processes/products for paint line manufacturing.
  • Use a variety of software tool/programs (Autocad,Solid Works, Catia, ETC)
  • MS Office skills
  • GD&T
  • Experience with FMEA, Control plans, Timelines
  • Familiarity with Critical Chain Management
  • Ability to perform analysis of data
  • Excellent communications skills, with written and oral
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Design verification
  • Capable of being a team player
  • Demonstrated ability to be creative and innovative
  • Ability to work with little supervision and make judgment on prioritizing work
