Process Engineer (fabric Belting)

Job Description

Primary Duties:




In house Fabric Belting Specialist. Reviewing Job traveler packet and Generating set up instructions, in house real time monitoring of production, testing, and shipping of fabric belts, and Fabric Belting contact person pertaining to in house production, external FDA personnel and customer contact as needed. Ensure that all designated testing and inspection activities are carried out and correctly documented in accordance with quality assurance requirements. Create and maintain product specifications and part numbers in various databases. Provide technical support in a 24 hour production environment to resolve any processing issues and establish guidelines for producing a quality product. Work towards improving efficiency of operations and meeting quality objectives. Compile statistical data concerning material, product and process quality. Report variations from standards and present quality related data. Management and resolution of non-conformances. Inspect in process and final belt product as required to evaluate defects. Interface with the Weaving plant to ensure issues are handled correctly and assist in the management of the customer concession process. Apply problem solving methodologies and recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product. Implement corrective action to reduce or eliminate root cause. Maintain Calibration program for critical process and measurement equipment Participate in the maintenance of the company's ISO 9001 Quality Management System. Facilitate quality improvement programs. Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Secondary Duties




Partner and assist other engineering personnel in new product/process design. Perform System & Process Audits to ensure the Quality Management System is operating as defined Comply with all relevant safety rules and procedures at all times in order to promote a safe work environment. Maintain a clean work environment. Professional behavior is required during working hours, while on customer's sites and while traveling for Fenner Dunlop business.

Scope of Responsibility




Assist with all aspects of the Bracebridge Technical/Quality Department. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on continuous improvement initiatives and providing technical support and direction. The position involves frequent inter-organization contact and the individual must have the ability to work effectively with employees from different departments and facilities.

Other Requirements



Knowledge of laboratory test procedures, chemical testing and analysis techniques. Fundamental - understanding of quality principles, systems, methods, tools and techniques. Understanding of the requirements of ISO9001 Quality System Standard Thorough understanding of problem solving and quality improvement tools. Experience in Engineering Change and/or Management of Change General knowledge of statistics and statistical process control Six Sigma working knowledge
