The
Process Engineer I
focuses on the design of manufacturing facility and equipment, supporting facility infrastructure and critical utility systems as a part of a highly interactive team. Typical tasks include the execution of engineering calculations including material and energy balances, heat transfer, pressure drop calculations as well as process optimization. The Junior Process Engineer is responsible for supporting the documentation of the process design scope in coordination with other disciplines. The Junior Process Engineer may support field installation teams and execute construction site observations. This role is expected to work closely with other architects, engineers and designers, as well as other internal and external team members to ensure a high quality, coordinated, constructible and complete design.

Self-checks own work but communicates often with peers and Supervisor.
Able to work on one or more projects concurrently and manage time effectively.
Solves complex problems under the direction and supervision of a mentor or supervisor
Project work may include all levels of design such as studies, conceptual and schematic design, design development, construction documentation and construction administration.
Produce engineering deliverables including:
o Block and Process Flow Diagrams
o User Requirements Specifications
o Equipment List
o Equipment General Arrangements
o Equipment Datasheets
o Utility Summary
o Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
ABET-accredited Bachelor's degree in mechanical, chemical or bioprocess engineering
0 to 5 years of experience in a related manufacturing or design firm
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Fundamental experience with performing engineering calculations, developing and implementing systems designs
Fundamental experience with chemistry/biochemistry
Fundamental experience with process modeling, material and energy balances and basic sizing calculations
Fundamental experience with fluid mechanics, hydraulic modeling and heat transfer
Ability to participate in internal cross-discipline project team coordination
Proficient at fundamental discipline design calculations under the supervision of an engineer
Proficiency in 2D / 3D design platforms (AutoCAD, Revit, Solidworks, etc.)
Proficiency in Programming
