An automotive plastics parts manufacturer in the area of Woodstock, ON is currently searching for a

Process Engineer

to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for optimizing manufacturing processes for plastic components used in automotive applications. This role drives continuous improvement in productivity, quality, and cost efficiency while ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.

This is a full time, and direct hire position with an excellent benefits package. This role is 100% on-site.

Process Engineer Responsibilities:

Develop, optimize, and document manufacturing processes for plastic injection molding and related operations. Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for process issues, ensuring minimal downtime and stable production. Implement continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies. Coordinate new product launches, including process validation, trial runs, and equipment/fixture setup. Monitor process KPIs and quality metrics; implement corrective and preventive actions as needed. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Quality, Production, Tooling, Maintenance) to achieve project and operational goals. Ensure all processes comply with automotive standards (IATF 16949, ISO requirements) and safety regulations.

Design Engineer Qualifications:

Degree (BA or BS) in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field is required Minimum 2-5 years' experience with engineering process development Strong understanding and Experience with PPAP, APQP, DFMEA, PFMEA and Six sigma. Injection molding knowledge and experience is an advantage Knowledge of Mold Flow is a big plus Strong work experience of plastics & other automotive parts materials will be a big plus May be required to travel and visit other company sites at times including plants in the US. Great communication skills in read, speak and write both internal and and with customers While performing the duties of this job you may be required to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift up to 35 pounds, lift in excess of 35 pounds with a lift assist, climb stairs, use hands to handle or feel parts/equipment, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend at the waist, talk and hear. You may also be required to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision.*

Pay: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
