About the Role:



We are seeking a

Process Development Scientist, Analytical Services,

in our

Dartmouth, Nova Scotia facility.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and validating robust, reliable analytical methods tailored to a diverse range of products and client requirements. You will perform advanced analyses to support process development activities, utilizing state-of-the-art methodologies to characterize new and innovative products. In this role, you will interpret and defend your results to both internal stakeholders and external clients, ensuring scientific rigor and clarity in all communications. You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary project teams while also demonstrating independence and initiative in your work. The position offers continual opportunities to expand your expertise as you engage with a broad array of products, technologies, and analytical techniques in a fast-paced CDMO environment. Ultimately, you will play a key role in transferring newly developed methods, skills, and technologies to the Quality group, ensuring long-term success and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Working as part of a dynamic team to provide timely and accurate analytical support for process development projects. Developing modern bioanalytical methodologies for the analyses of biologics using techniques such as CE-SDS, UV-VIS, cIEF, SDS-PAGE, ELISA, qPCR, MS, Western blot and HPLC. Carrying out literature searches as appropriate to evaluate modern analytical methods and patents. Collaborating with fellow scientists, technicians, and students in the development of analytical methods. Occasionally supervising and training others in the execution of those methods. Writing research and development test methods, procedures, protocols, and analytical development reports. Transferring technology to technical staff, in both the Process Development and Quality groups. Maintaining accurate, real-time records of all laboratory activities.


What You Bring to the Role:

B.Sc. degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Chemistry or related fields. MSc or PhD considered an asset. Previous experience with HPLC method development and/or validation is considered an asset. Experience with analytical chromatography software (Agilent OpenLab CDS, Waters Empower, Waters UNIFI, etc) is considered an asset. Previous experience using quality by design (QbD) and design of experiments (DoE) methodologies to measure critical quality attributes, understand design spaces and identify critical process parameters is considered an asset. Technical proficiency with laboratory instrumentation and techniques for the analysis of recombinant proteins, enzymes, pDNA and mRNA is considered an asset.
