To succeed with us in the Technology Department, we need your enthusiasm to:
Demonstrate deep appreciation and commitment towards technical safety.
Display a strong positive attitude to manage change and improvement in our dynamic processes, ways of working and our overall performance as we evolve into a fully operating asset post CSURU (Commissioning, startup and ramp up).
Always display strategic thinking in developing technical systems where tactical short-term decisions and constraints to (efficient) production are harnessed into 'eternal learning loops' mindset to develop and implement sustainable plans for LNG delivery to markets.
Develop strong working relationships within and outside your team, stakeholders to boost co-operation and a One Team approach transcending into multi-disciplinary integration.
Utilize flexible and incremental innovation thinking with well-developed problem-solving skills.
Have courage to hold strong to views when challenged or challenging others with clear value drivers to preserve long-term asset value.
You will use your expertise to:
Commissioning and Start-up
Support operations and other interfaces on control and safeguarding schemes whenever needed.
Act as a Technical Authority for process control in LNGC, supporting MOCs and future expansions like phase 2 as needed.
Proactively get involved in the CSU and ramp up related activities while being an active member of ADT (Asset Delivery Team) when asked.
Provide high quality support for process control and improvement of control and safeguarding systems for the LNGC and interfaces.
Deliver process control aspects of LNGC in accordance with project HSE, technical standards, quality standards and procedures as defined in Contract and Project Specification, during design, construction, commissioning and start-up.
Optimize processes via all the techniques to improve controller Pay special attention to control loop tests and tuning as well as putting Engineering Training Simulator to test (ETS) and position it as a scenario assessment tool.
Support the organization to conduct performance tests and assess gaps if any and plan for removal of constraints after steady state is achieved.
Review the process control content of plant modifications/changes as well as instrument trip/alarm settings such that plant integrity remains ensured and design objectives are met prior and post-handover from EPC.
Ensure documents, i.e. control and IPF narratives, system functional design specifications, etc., are maintained and as-built comments are accurately kept. Participate in required HSE activities (audits, meetings, etc.) and demonstrate (by example) safe work practices and procedures to the contractors at all times.
Develop fit for purpose start up tools for example - auto cooldown, systems performance monitoring templates together with process engineering team and ensure integrated dashboards during CSURU phase.
Support the implementation of control and safeguarding functionality in DCS, SGS and FGS systems.
In Operate
Continue providing process control services for the LNGC complex to maximize plant safety and reliability. Contribute to process optimization, control, operating procedures, troubleshooting and safeguarding systems of all facilities.
Contribute to Process Control monitoring program (including KPIs) to identify bad actors and propose solutions to improve process performance. Predict future issues and propose solutions to solve mid/long term issues through proactive monitoring of controller uptimes and plant performance.
Develop, implement, tune and maintain Advanced Process Control applications for the LNG plant and utilities post performance test run and position advanced systems as the backbone of the end-to-end facility optimization.
Ensure Narratives are updated in line with MOCs.
Leverage skills and technical knowledge to ensure operation within operating envelope, produce within design specifications and maintaining integrity of equipment. Lead application of process safety guidelines to prevent loss of production.
Solve/troubleshoot problems, investigate incidents and minimize shutdown/start-up durations using process engineering knowledge & expertise. Actively engage with operation teams for the same. Build strong collaborative relationships with stakeholders like Operations, engineering and commercial.
Closely interact with the laboratory to ensure methods, limits and sample schedule provide the correct feedback for supporting production, engineering and various process test-runs.
Contribute to development studies and projects related to plant performance improvements using process control techniques. Keep abreast of latest technologies and accordingly develop tools. Drive case for change with the aim of improving train/complex reliability, efficiency, production and environmental performance
Contribute to Ensure Safe Production especially on safeguarding, proactive and predictive monitoring.

About Us
LNG Canada is a joint venture company comprised of five global energy companies with substantial experience in liquefied natural gas (LNG) - Shell, PETRONAS, Mitsubishi Corporation, PetroChina, and KOGAS.
LNG Canada represents the largest private sector investment in Canadian history, and a once-in-a-generation opportunity to benefit local communities and provincial and national economies. It is a long-life asset with a 40-year export license that will initially export LNG from two processing units or "trains" totaling 14 million tonnes per annum (mtpa).
With our five joint venture participants, we continue to explore pathways to a potential LNG Canada Phase 2 expansion, which can unlock additional revenues to government and benefits for B.C. communities and businesses and deliver more lower carbon LNG to countries trying to achieve their energy transition goals.
Safety, shared economic value, environmental performance and social performance are our highest priorities. We have partnered with governments, local communities, and First Nations to maximize shared value.

About Kitimat
Kitimat is a community of about 8,000 people located on the northwest coast of British Columbia. The community sits at the head of the Douglas Channel next to the Kitimat River co-located between salt and fresh water. Four seasons of indoor and outdoor recreational facilities and surrounding wilderness provide plenty of opportunity for an active, outdoor, coastal and river lifestyle. The community was developed in the 1950s to serve the aluminum industry. Over the years forestry and methanol industries were also located here. The airport is in Terrace, BC, approximately 55 kilometers north of Kitimat.
Kitamaat Village is located near Kitimat and is home to about 1,700 Haisla Nation members, living both on and off reserve, who have occupied the land in the area for thousands of years. We respectfully acknowledge that Kitimat is located on Haisla Nation traditional territory
