Our Hinton Pulp Division is seeking an individual to fill the following position:

PROCESS CONTROL SPECIALIST

or

PROCESS CONTROL ENGINEER

The role of the Process Control Specialist/Engineer is to combine an understanding of the pulping process with programming knowledge and logical thinking to get the most out of the mill through automation and optimization. The ideal candidate is a process engineer with at least 5 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience who can lead process control and optimization efforts at site, who is experienced in control system configuration, logic, and HMIs, and is able to translate process needs for DCS implementation. Key responsibilities:
  • Improve the operability of the Mill through controls implementation/optimization
  • Process control strategy development
  • Maintain the performance and integrity of high-performance HMI graphics
  • Identify and support training and development of E&I technicians and/or process engineers with potential to become future Control Specialists
  • PLC and DCS hardware/network infrastructure maintenance
  • Alarm management
  • Control loop tuning and optimization
  • Work with Process Engineers and Operations on projects
  • Historian and data visualization maintenance and upgrades
The ideal candidate has:
  • A related trade, technologist, or engineering certification
  • Five years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in industrial automation or process engineering
  • DeltaV, Schneider, Allen Bradley experience
