Job Summary
The Process Control Operator (Batcher) is responsible for accurately measuring, mixing, and preparing raw ingredients according to production recipes, ensuring high-quality beverage formulation. This role is crucial in maintaining product consistency, safety, and efficiency in the batching process.
Key Responsibilities
Batching & Mixing Operations:
Accurately measure and blend ingredients according to production recipes and specifications.
Operate automated and manual batching systems to ensure proper mixing and formulation of beverages.
Assist in receiving tankers of ingredients/pump into storage silo
Maintain a clean processing area.
Safe handling practices. (Chemical for Equipment sanitation)
Operating batching equipment (Liquefier and batch tank)
Ensuring SOP is followed properly before releasing the batch
Assist process leads to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues with equipment, devices and products
Other duties as required and assigned
Quality Control & Compliance
Ensure beverage processing standards are met, following all certification and GMP guidelines.
Maintain accurate records of batch ingredients, lot numbers, and expiries.
Report any deviations or equipment malfunctions to supervisors immediately.
Equipment & Safety Management:
Operate and maintain mixing tanks, pumps, valves, and filtration systems.
Perform pre-operational and post-operational equipment checks.
Follow food safety, hygiene, and plant safety regulations to prevent contamination and workplace hazards.
Participate in routine cleaning and sanitation of batching equipment (CIP - Clean-in-Place systems).
Qualifications & Skills
1-3 years of experience in beverage manufacturing, food processing, or batching operations.
Experience working with Tetra Pak aseptic or UHT processing is an asset.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent (Technical or Food Science background is a plus).
Skills & Abilities:
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes precisely.
Knowledge of food safety regulations (HACCP, GMP, FDA, CFIA, etc.).
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Basic computer skills for data entry and production tracking.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Work Conditions
Beverage processing environment (exposure to water, heat, and chemicals).
Shift work potential (including weekends, nights, and possible overtime).
